I work at Lexus, 3 days ago a costumer came and ordered two of them. He was around 50ish years old. He also pulled up on an LS F sport 😉 don’t know what my man is up to but it’s amazing knowing that some people actually love these things. We just found a unicorn RCF! I wanted the 2022 Fuji Track edition RCF when I initially started looking at them because of how badass they are BUT didn’t have the $90k asking price 😢so started looking at other year models. Weeks of searching, and all there seemed to be out there were models with 3+ owners and 60/70k miles and up and most had slight damage indicated on their car faxes. 😮Not to mention the sales price was still $60/70k for anywhere from 2016-2020 model , and I just couldn’t see paying that much for one with previous damage or 5 previous owners and 70k miles. After weeks of searching and endless emails from car sales people 😮I was just about to give up……. I looked up and said please Jesus there has to be a unicorn hidden away out there w/all low miles, 1 owner, pristine condition, and isn’t hella expensive! Then I found her, now it’s a 2015 model whereas I was hoping to get one 2017 and up BUTTTTT I couldn’t believe it!! I found a 2015 model with 13k miles, carbon fiber hood and roof, kept by the one 55 year old owner in the most pristine garage I had ever seen (u could eat off the floor it was so clean) NO ACCIDENTS NO DAMAGE AND got her for $46k (originally he wanted $50k but I was able to get him down a bit)🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ I’ve had her a week and still learning all about the bad assed-ness she has to offer 😂 And how to control all of her hp. I am going from a 2014 Monogram limited edition Scion TC manual to this RCF 😮She is a beast! I have gotten her up to 150 and she still had more to give! ❤it!! Never give up, if your looking , cause unicorns do exist 😊

The RCF is one of my favourite cars. I just regret that the track edition didn't played the full game and stopped somewhere in the mid. I would have added the ability to setup camber and toe options, Instead of having the electronically adpative suspension. Also having coils that you can setup in height, bump and rebound is not something crazy for a track car, and would have benefitted unsprung mass. Also, when going for low weight, you can delete the crazy heavy heated and cooled seats. They are extremely heavy, especially at Lexus that makes them so sturdy. A pair of carbon seats would have been an upgrade for THIS particular car.

And it would have costed a +100k dollars ^^. lol. Actually, the move of Toyota wasn't stupid. But they choose one of the worst partner to stick with in this collab. I'm sure Nissan, Subaru and Suzuki would have loved to work on a modern I6 engine and the public would have had accepted this engine better. Even if the B58 is basically a BM-Yota engine, it's impossible to convince the peoples about it. They will stop at the BMW badge and not look further.

@@tomseddon3715 who then would buy the RCF if they offer practically the same thing in a 2 door sports car for prob half the price? I'm not a huge fan of BMW but Toyota i don't think messed up going this route. they saved them selves a few dollars on design and engineering and still released a very nice supra with a lot of potential. The M58( correct me if thats wrong) is a strong engine made from the M (not m as in motorsport but as in their engine codes) series that has driven BMWs for the past 3 decades they are so similar to the inline six motors of toyota that there isnt enough of a difference to really complain about. the blocks won't hold as much boost without sleeving (the 2jz had closed deck iron block thats why it holds so much boost) but all modern engines are made of all aluminum which is cheaper and lighter. and when you want to get your car into mass market you have to do things like that to keep people buying. if they just kept re-using and tweaking their old products then it would loose its novelty and only the enthusiasts would buy it. As much as Toyota looks out for the consumer they also have to look out for themselves. And how many times in the past 40 years have you seen a problem that only affects Toyota? (not the takata air bags that was an industry wide thing) They make something you can pass down for generations keeping the way of the Japanese heritage alive while the rest of the world is mass producing throw away cars like Neons and Cavalier equivalents. Shit you still see first gen Prius's on the road. How many 1st gen insights do you see today? Toyota knows what they are doing. Lets just wait and be grateful we have a company that wants to keep giving us everything from one end of the board to the other. you can buy a 40MPG corolla for 10 grand new or a unicorn sports car all under the same roof. I think thats pretty baller
