i owned a zx-11, this bike literally ruined a lot of things for me. I can tell you that the reason it was called a ninja was because it was an assassin. the exileration of speed was so incredible, you couldn't help but smile. it didn't like going slower than 120mph or it would burn your leg hairs off.... I did some incredible things on that bike, sliding the rear to turn hard, sliding on the front tire like ice... tank slapper... but never truly laid it down, only dropped it. its so heavy, when i first got on it it tipped right over from being so top heavy with fuel. it ruined all rides at amusement parks that are supposed to be fast like superman. you could shut off the engine and turn it back on to make the double barrel shotgun pipes blast off. very very fun bike, i racked up about 10k in tickets before i sold it.

@@captainamerica9353 you'd be surprised what a decent traffic attorney can do. A lot of it depends on what state you live in, but in many parts of the country you can get away with practically limitless speeding tickets if you're willing to pay. you gotta love how much of the japanese automobile industry is focused on motorcycles they constantly design low-end, affordable rides on the puny 125cc for the average man with the same passion and care that they'd put into their big 1000cc hyper sports. I particularly love the low-end side of things because of the heritage with the bosozoku since that whole thing was based on using small bikes that were easily customized/acquired, which probably fueled boosted the market for moar low-end bikes. Plus the vintage looks and analog displays are an actual godsend in these times of digital displays and carbon fiber dreams. As much as i love the hayabusa for what it did and all sports for that manner, i can't help but have a special little place in my heart reserved for the everyday man's 125cc/250cc. They perfectly embody the basic, primal reason for why we ride in the first place: to enjoy the ride.

Ram air intakes don't work on cars or motorcycles, they don't create boost. Theoretically, you could achieve a fraction of a pound of boost going close to 300mph. But in most applications, like in the Hayabusa, the intake is located in a high-airspeed zone. Bernoulli's Principle tells us that this creates a low pressure, so the ram air ducts offer lower performance than a typical under seat intake. But, they look cool...

@@altarancho he is right about ram air intakes not really working at motoring speeds, dunno about reduced performance tho
@uhtred78609 ай бұрын
A forward-facing intake can indeed convert high air velocity into extra power, The problem for street bikes is the gain from ram air at 160 mph, (rarely attained on the street) is only around 3 percent, this indicates that for older production bikes this is more fashion than function, but it also provides cooler, denser air into the airbox which is beneficial to efficiency. Modern ram air ducts are mounted centrally, copying Moto GP practise, where the air pressure is highest, and routed through the steering head. Early twin ram air intakes like the Hayabusa's were mounted either side were the air pressure is lower, as a way to get around the issue of routing the air through the headstock.
