"do you think that planes need to chill out? let me know in the comments" funnily enough, the SR71's top speed was limited by heat buildup/tolerance/dissipation, not it's maximum engine output, the thing was designed to cheat physics a bit and use the sonic boom it was making to precompress the air for it's engines, this got so much energy back out of what went into pushing the plane that it needed less power to push up against it's maximum flight speed than it needed to stay in the air at it's _minimum_ flight speed. this also meant that both the sr71 and the somewhat faster and much less publicized plane it was based on could exceed their "max" speeds fairly easily, they'd just melt their nosecones if they kept it up for more than a few seconds and proceed to experience a critical structural failure and go from the tipping point of the metal in that spike and leading edge starting to denature to ripping themselves apart on their own shockwave and disintegrating so fast it might as well be an explosion.

That's not completely correct, some bikes are restricted to 300kmh what you sometimes see is the rev keep going because speedo wasn't correct. Also sometimes people just removed the limiter. Or the bike didn't come with restricted and ofc only shows 299kmh but it maybe only does 310kmh or so.

That's true, but most people tend to learn more quickly on smaller, cheaper, less powerful bikes because they can focus on all the other aspects of riding and aren't distracted by trying to control the power all the time. Most modern 300-400cc bikes are capable of +/-5 second 0-60 times and are powerful enough to handle passing maneuvers on American highways. Were you going off the bike's speedometer? If so, you were going slower than that. Most bike speedometers are very optimistic and the faster you go, the more inaccurate they become. If the speedo says 189mph, you're most likely doing 168-170. If you truly hit 202 MPH, that bike was not stock.

@01firstlast2 жыл бұрын
That article was in Sport Rider magazine, they had a competition for builders (UFO), that zx-11 made 459.8 horsepower at the rear wheel. With that much power, chain torque drove the wheel so hard in to the ground the bike would bunny hop of the line. And yes the top speed was impressive but abbreviated because again the force from the chain was bending the frame and making the bike pull to one side. Terry Kizer a great motorcycle tuner

That being said I feel responsible enough to have that privilege, my friends who are also 17; one has a 500 hp cobra and a 200+ hp Ducati panigale 1199. The other friend has a 2016 yamaha R1s.
