"NOBODY does that, and it gives us regular folk a chance to finally see how it's done" yeah I really like the part where he points out "I'm "poor" with a down payment of 500k", us regular folks am I right? with just 4-5 cars and can afford a down payment of 100-300k right guys? Meanwhile, in regular folks land, people are looking ad Ed and saying "what the fuck are you doing?" "I hadd to sell equity and finance this insanly expensive upkeep "investment" to make a video on youtbe" Ed sold his cars to buy a car he can't even afford, yet alone aford to upkeep, there's a reason those cars are sold to people that pay other people to pay somebody to manage somebody to up keep the car.... it's a shit car for the price, it goes vrooom yes, but money.

@@gk-cl7soHard to say without looking at a P&L sheet from Bugatti. The Veyron is unique in the number bespoke parts, even more than other hupercars. They are reusing or buying off the shelf parts more. Bugatti addressed this by making the subsequent models _less_ expensive to maintain than Veyron. Even for a billionaire, the Veyron was expensive to own.

It's "collector car" insurance, there tends to be a lot of requirements. @damstachizz
@damstachizz Ай бұрын
The wheels are ugly as hell, but that's what the car came with so that's what they need to be when selling it. For driving around, much more subtle black with red highlight wheels would look great, and 5x130 isn't such a crazy stud pattern that custom wheels will be stupid expensive, even going HREs wouldn't be too bad. As for tyres, ed should double check with other veyron guys but going down from the custom 365/25R21 to 345/25R21 is only a 1.4% diameter difference which the stability control system shouldn't really care about, and that gets him on a size that actually exists. The worry at that point becomes load rating. Even the 355/25R21 PZero/Pilot sport 4 are only 107 rated, while the veyron is 108. In the real world, that means nothing. In a crash when the insurance company is staring at a $1.5m bill, that suddenly means everything.
@OriginalMotorCar
@OriginalMotorCar Ай бұрын
Custom wheels that look/resemble stock, but fit an off the shelf tire would be the way to go to get some of those costs down. They won’t be cheap, but they’ll be a heck of a lot cheaper than a set of stock tires. And you can match the wheel size to an affordable tire.
