@@CadgerChristmasLightShow that would be a really cool episode idea. They could probably pick up a few junkers from any number of scrap yards, do some basic compression tests, etc. to make sure they're fixable and then have different people compete to fix them. I'd watch a few videos like that. In order to make it an actual prize though and not just the chore of now owning an old car that will need more work... they could give away whatever it costs to make the cars road-worthy again, like newer tires and brakes and filters etc. I just like seeing people fix stuff that's old enough to be cheap enough that it's something I can relate to. There's no way I would have guessed the crank sensor or fuel pump itself on such a new car.. not without a scan tool anyway. 😅

@@opticFPV Hmm I can't say I agree. I currently live in Florida and have lived in Pennsylvania as well. I've taken more than 100 Uber rides and also rent zipcars sometimes, and I can count the amount of manual cars I've seen on one hand. Also, I totally disagree that people would be better drivers if they drove manuals. Im my opinion, the reason that Americans are not fantastic drivers is because of how the driver's license is obtained here. Where I'm from (Holland) it cost me over 2 grand to get my license, because only official lessons at a driving school will count towards getting your license. Meanwhile, American drivers learn alot of their driving from their parents, which logically means that shitty drivers have kids who tend to also be shitty drivers, thus the cycle continues. I don't see why driving a manual car, which is much more difficult than driving an automatic, would solve anything.

Fantastic new series idea, but I can't put myself in their position, I would be mortified and starstruck and I know I'd fail, my mechanic pace is very hobby and casual, I mean it's a hobby after all and mostly zen while listening to music or an audiobook. This was scary and I sweating for this guy. He also killed it, I'd have failed super hard and I know this stuff.

This is a fun game, whoever thought this up should get a raise for this. Also you guys are doing a great job with this channel. Lots to enjoy and learn, and watch you guys suffer trying to fix stuff too lol. Good job everyone.

So hard to pick multiple random faults that make now sense with zero diagnostic equipment. In reality this would never happen. He went really well and I'm so pumped you gave him a nudge on the crank angle sensor. great show!!!!!!!!!!

Needs a bonus round of some sort maybe: "Keep as many mods as you can install with remaining time"

like the first teggy episode where they challenged him to install the exhaust before even finishing the diagnosis

Great episode! Definitely should have more of these. Like a monthly or quarterly episode.

I was postive on the switch and the crank position sensor is a common failure on many cars. I would eventually also diagnose the fuel pump cuzz I had a pump problem on one of my previous cars, clearly was not operating when turning the ignition on. This guy is good :-)

Good shit gentlemen! Love to see the love and opportunities going out to regular folks. I’d love to see someone get an opportunity to “fix” a Tacoma that might have some off-roading upgrades applied.

Cool idea. As a tech myself I was shouting out what to check lol. He did a really good job. Trick I used to do when training new techs at my shop was to put clear tape around the posts/terminals on the battery and put the cables on. Couldn't see the tape and if you went to check batt. voltage on the post it would be good. Had to check on the post and the cable end. Another was reverse the hoses at the fuel pump or put the fuel filter(if it had an inline) in backwards. Edit: checking that safety switch first thing was epic though.

I really like how educational & fun this is! Plus the diagrams y’all show is easy to understand cars and location, may seem like a common thing to know, yes, but i don’t think of things like this obvious stuff (fuel, air, spark)

What a car needs to start 1.) Spark 2.) Air 3.) Fuel 4.) Compression 5.) Timing Always check those 5 things if your car doesn’t start
@gmailisaretard2 жыл бұрын
You can run a car without good compression, however you're going to see very poor performance. Also, if you have a timing issue and try to start the car, you're not going to get even as far as listening to the starter turn over before things start getting destroyed.
@Wickit962 жыл бұрын
This is an awesome idea, I feel like having some type of mechanical issue like the position since we're being bad instead of just unplugging it was a smart idea as well, great work!

This is like Technical Control course in the Marines. It's a very technical MOS with a high failure rate where you have to learn how to use a lot of different telecomm equipment to build out a comprehensive communications network incorporating several different comm. MOS'es, and in order to pass the course at the end 3 major communications sites are integrated and you are given a total of 140 minutes to troubleshoot 13 different problems (each problem is a separate instance where you are told the symptom(s) and from there you have to identify and correct the problem). Very high failure rate but a very high bonus if you can pass it.
