The K9 story made me laugh. I had two k9 German Shepard’s accidentally let loose on me when I was a church missionary going house to house in the backwoods of Washington state. Fortunately the officers thought it was a squirrel their dogs were excited about and not two young men coming to knock on their door, which caused the dogs to not know what to do when they came outside. One of the two K9’s nipped at my coat sleeves but that was the worst of any sort of “bite” I received thankfully, and shortly after that the officers came out and called the dogs off saving us. Plus they’re a harder target to hit, which can result in missing and hitting unintended objects, like innocent bystanders. Plus the only reason you fire your weapon is to stop a deadly threat. Besides, if a psycho is coming after you with a weapon, you're probably not going to be thinking about the most humane place to put a bullet in them... if you can even aim that well in the short reactionary time slot you may have in the moment.
