Wonderful how these 50+ yr old groups have kept performing albeit with some new members. Most sing their haerts out without modern electric gismos to bend/distort the sounds. Love 'l Thank th Moon', originally sung /performd to operatic quality.

I've watched the changes in the music from the 50's through the 80's. My biggest influences in the style singing I do came from the classic 5 aka the original Temptations: David, Eddie, Melvin, Paul and Otis! Miss you guys!

I was fortunate to have grown up with the groups of the 50s and 60s. I remember in early 1955 when the Platters did their first hit, "The Great Pretender" and how I disliked them because they did not have that Doo Wop sound. Once I got to feel their sound, I beacame a fan to this day. I saw the original Temps with Little Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Marvelletes, Smokey and The Miracles all together at the Apollo in 1964. I also saw and talked with Sam Cooke when he was with the Soul Stirrers. One of my best friends is the present leader of The Marcels, Jule Hopson.
