It's kind of the opposite for me. It's crazy how well life works for many different perspectives. Life for me was going nowhere and I cared for absolutely nothing. I grew up and became more mature from 17 to 23 was one hell of an adventure in my young adult life. After college I found out how much deeper life goes than just working and finding a girlfriend. I found out life was deeper than finding a way to make more money to become independent and just living life comfortably away from the troublesome issues you can't control from your previous life as a child. When I moved out on my own and found a job and was able to achieve what I wanted in life, independence, wants and needs like food, a new car, etc. I realized life isn't just being a person living day to day working, paying bills, and eating. In some way, to some of us at least, life was about finding ways to contribute to humanity. Whether that be part of a group that builds homeless shelters, learning to be empathetic with people from a complete different walk in life, or being an understanding individual (and many many many other things). I am 27 now, I've had time to ponder on things that mattered to me. I developed a way to talk to people nicely and learned to fight my emotional anger and angst in an effort to just listen and understand an individual, rather than to just assume from his demeanor and choice of words, is who that person is. It's a bit hard to describe as I am still working on it, but I changed myself to become a person who can be connective and understanding in hopes that one day I can see others do the same.
@davinky12292 жыл бұрын
@@daoyang223 man, I uh really don’t want to go through that, and also I do. Maturing sounds like a fundamental and wonderful process in my point of view, but having those thoughts is overwhelming. Every time I feel unclear, doubting, or just unmotivated for no reason is that I’m looking for answers. I avoid those existential thoughts like plague but I know that sitting with oneself and thinking about how your life is going, how you interact with people, etc is important for maturing. It’s just overwhelming. It’s like digging a hole and realizing you’re not even half done. But I want to have that emotional intelligence that you have, stop minimizing people that way and putting a label on them. I want to grow as a person. I’m 15, I’m trying to work academically and try going to a successful university overall, yet my emotional intelligence is below the floor. I’ve realized that I often push people away and judge, yet I don’t realize what is going out of my mind. There are so many things I’ve got to figure out, and I’ve guided myself with my dreams. However, I still know that when I achieve that I’ll be lost and left with nothing. Growing up seems exciting yet overwhelming.

Love how you share about emotions, especially publicly on social media. I think it's important to share things like that so we can normalize it for others that feel the same way and know that we aren't the only ones and that it's okay that you feel that way. It's reason I became a counsellor so that i could normalize a lot of things for clients. It's sad to think that a lot of people think it's a bad thing if they aren't happy. Once you find acceptance, things can shift in whatever way you want
@alectobi1442 жыл бұрын
I don’t think the point is why is feeling sad a bad thing? It’s more about is the human brain/body able to resist that level of sadness for an extended period of time? Which begs the question of why we feel sadness in the first place… what is the purpose of feeling sad
@EstairiaH2 жыл бұрын
@@alectobi144 what you resist persists! and does there need to be a reason why we feel sad? Just feeling your emotions is enough to have it move through.
@carloschiriboga40782 жыл бұрын
I can definitely understand the “feeling sad without understanding what exactly the cause is” part. As someone in their mid 20s, I think it can be good to just ride out those emotions. As you said, there may not be a deep meaning to living life and that’s perfectly ok. You just pursue what makes you feel good and just be conscious (without judgement) of how you are feeling when your emotions start becoming more turbulent/feel overbearing. Also, when you ate that stick of ice cream, I briefly stopped paying attention and thought you actually took a bite out of a stick of butter lol.
@Saulgoodmane2 жыл бұрын

Living in Brazil sometimes makes we believe that people "upside the Equator" have no problems, everything is always fun and games, but it isn't. I've heard about the high pressure that young people suffers on their choices in personal life, like marriage and stuff, and career, specially in asian society. "If you're having trouble breathing and suffering from high fever you don't contemplate existence of life" Yep. That's why when I'm feeling depressed, I remind myself how much of a first-world problem it is. While there are people happy to be getting food, I'm upset because I can't find the meaning in mine. That's when I try to focus on small things and take my life one moment at a time, because I'm so used to ignoring all of it. Of course I'm not saying that if you're depressed you're unthankful or bad. That's not true. It's just that for me personally, making a conscious effort to focus on small tasks and seeing the joy in them gives me a new perspective and helps me feel better, it keeps me from spiraling into trying to find a meaning for it.

you don't understand how this made my day. you put all my thoughts into words! 🤍 i've been ruminating on the purpose of existence the past few weeks, and it's a daily battle to find meaning bec we are literally on a floating rock on space!! 🥲 on the other hand, i'm terrified of time passing and growing old. life is a confusing concept but i guess it's up to us to create our own happiness. so proud of you, dooby, for braving each day and spreading some love & joy in this otherwise bleak world! 🌸

I really mean it when I say it when your videos help shape the way I think about life. I’ve been increasingly introspective in a similar way and your narrations help me realise I’m not the only one in my early 20s grappling with similar questions. Keep doing what you’re doing 🤟🏽 Sending good vibes to you from a big fan in London!!

I felt the same way few weeks ago, Being in solitude is mentally strengthening and straining on oneself, but having that occasional human motion/energy/frequency of the world outside of our grind is reassuring that you’re on a journey. Having someone to share the emotions and the feeling of joy is a gift in life. You know you best and when you feel lost, you are exactly where you need to be

I love how you articulate feelings that I, and I think many of us, have. You make it feel okay and like we aren't alone struggling to figure out how to do life right. Thank you for that :)

These feelings come in waves. Failing to see the point of life or whatever we’re doing at the moment can get dark, especially if we don’t have an end goal in mind. I get super existential myself and the “Why” questions I ask myself definitely get me into a funk. I usually try to focus on short term goals because I feel like there’s a lack of long term ones to look forward to. Short term motivation is a lot more tangible and digestible in the grand scheme of life. Hopefully the momentum from the short term productivity maintains and you use that to get through the next thing

just discovered you and I am hooked, what an amazing perspective you bring, you voice what I have been feeling for a long time and while I watch your videos, for a moment, I do not feel alone...Your wisdom at such a young age is amazing too...

This is the great barrier we all hit. Breakthrough will come. It’s ok to feel sad. It’s ok to say no when you are pressured to say yes. Counseling, a solid group of people who speak life (even when it hurts) into me, and my relationship with the Lord has helped me get through this last rough season of my life. Blessings, sister.

I actually really appreciate you sharing the process in which it takes you to edit / prepare a video (especially interwoven into your day). I think we typically take things for granted and assume everything can be outsourced. While I love your videos already (and take a lot of pick-me-up advice with me along the week), it’s even that much more meaningful to see the process. Rooting for you and your work ethic!

when we're sick both mentally and physically, our human instincts to survive naturally kicks in and suddenly, now that we actually know what being in actual pain is like, we actually don't want to face that sadness and live like that anymore so we do all we can to survive the hard moments and when the big storm is over and the sun shines again, we are once again reminded of our strength and i think we as humans, we all learn that one way or another in our lives and that the rain doesn't last forever and the sun will always shine again. stay strong dooby! you are so strong !!! 🤍🤍

I came to the same realization when I was diagnosed with cancer. Luckily I'm fine today, but continue to fight it for the last 14 years. There is no grand goal of life; just be happy and share it with others along the way is what I learned.

Thank you for your insight Tina. I've gained a lot of perspective from you. @5:05 My pop always says "All of us are crazy..... some of us are just further along than others". You're not alone. I went through something very similar recently as well.

That's what we are as humans. We always want something, something that even we don't know. Most of us have lived good lives and hence fail to cherish it. It's human mentality to take things for granted, until we face situations that can even threaten our very existence. But atleast that way we realise how good our life actually is. This video really hit me deep. Thanks a lot for putting this up, Tina!

It's honestly so sweet to hear you laugh and smile with your friend. I'm so glad you have her in your life. I know you've said you feel lonely a lot so I hope you can grow that relationship and some others with people you can truly trust and who are loyal people. It's hard to find genuine friends who will always be there. I have dealt with this often 💓
