I'm on my first playthrough right now and loving it. The game is old and I have limited playing time, so I have zero qualms about playing with the wiki open next to me. Watching Max's playthrough in the background while I work... it's amazing to see how much he figures out by himself, but also how limiting it is to skip over merchants, forgetting to run, never using the firecracker... lol

I think when you die without enough gold and skill points to sacrifice dragon rot takes effect. It makes sense because kuro and Emma explain that everytime you resurrect you have to sacrifice something else. So plenty gold and plenty points, you can die a lot. Once you get broke, then dragon rot starts to take life force to resurrect you.

No it's actually pretty simple they just word it weird so that's what confuses everybody I went the entire game without getting dragonrot simply by never respawning at the idol sometimes I did fully die and respawn at the idol but I think the limit is like 10 or something then you get the rot so all you do is die and resurrect as many times as you want but before you officially diewhere it says "DEATH" just run to an idol and rest that's all it is
