DOOM BUILDER | CUSTOM MUSIC!!

A little bit of a "quick start" guide for Doom Builder, Slade and ZDL. I looked up how to add custom music for custom Doom WADs and it seemed all the videos were talking about XWE and nobody really had a video showing a much better way to add music to the game.
It's especially beneficial using Slade because you can add any type of music you'd like, rather than simply using MIDI files.

Fun Fact: If you Download Slade3 you can open your wad, put your song/midi in the folder of your wad and rename it to example D_RUNNIN if your map is put to MAP01 or D_STALKS if it's MAP02 *you can find the song map names here **doomwiki.org/wiki/Doom_II_music*

It includes them in BFG edition, it's pretty easy to find, just go into the folders, base, and then wads.

Is there a way to add the music to your wad though? Not have to run two wads. I just want pppl to DL my single map wad and have a duke nukem track play for d_runnin .

I dont know if you've figured it out, or gave up, but you just put the music file into the wad you wanna put it in.

Thanks so much for this. I used DoomBuilder several years ago and was wondering how to add custom music. Glad to know somebody has made it simple enough to do. Pain in the butt trying to get all the details together like the mission title and what not but I'm sure it's better than XWE. Btw, do you know if you would do the same process for Heretic and Hexen, as DoomBuilder supports those as well?

This is a really great tutorial, but why do you need to make two wads? Are you not able to just put the music in the first wad somehow?

@@hypercynic But wb Gzdoom? I heard on different sites you can do MusicSetVolume scripts which makes the music louder the close u get. I don't know shit about Build Engine lol.

Sure would be nice if I wouldn't constantly run into this dll problem (no matter what I do, I cannot get past it) - SLADE.exe - System Error The program cant start because api-ms-win-crt-runtime-|1-1-0.dll is missing from your computer even though I already have visual c++ 2015 installed... hell, I even installed both versions (x86 & x64) and did the same with visual c++ 2017 on both installs, too just to see if I could solve the problem. Nope I've never once been able to use this program in the 2 years I've been desperately trying to. -_-
