Decino, for Valiant you'll have to learn to identify shootable switches on the map. If there's a hidden or hard to find shootable switch, you can identify it by looking for the characteristic "shaft in the wall" on the automap. It's how I have been finding most of those switches so far (currently at map 20). That beeing said, your abilities to survive far outshine my own. I became really intimate with this map, not due to secret hunting but due to dying and restarting a lot. Watching you master this in

Yesterday's Insanity. The one map in episode 2 that I forget about the most often. It's still a cool map, super intense, but for me it's plain not as memorable as the other ones. Ey, you got the über-forgettable Archvile right off the bat! Nice. That sumbitch bamboozled me several times when I only had 1 kill left. Yes, Pyro Knights have two different attack patterns. The first is the two quick arm swipes, where he launches one small imp fireball, one big ball and another small fireball in quick sequence, twice (one for each arm swing). The second one is where he raises both arms and brings them down together, that one launches a fast burst of 4 or 5 big flames. The first attack is obviously weaker but has very little starting lag; the second one has more lag but deals WAY more damage if the entire burst hits - IIRC it can deal over 100 damage. *Side note:* the Pyro Knight uses the dual swing attack for melee. Same rules apply, except in melee scratches instead of fireballs. When infighting he can utterly _destroy_ high health enemies. 13:56 Why indeed. You can only find that secret through blind luck or previous knowledge, that's how obtuse it is. It's a dumber "torch secret" than McGee's one in The Waste Tunnels. At least put a different decoration in there, skillsaw! The tune for this one is "Cataclysmic Impact", from Plutonia 2. Perfect fit for such a Plutonia-esque layout and visual style. Now, for the next map... get ready for *_farts._*

To me, the telefrag sequence is quite memorable. But then, it took me ages to find that secret teleporter, so when I finally figured out the level and learnt to go for that secret early, it felt like I had conquered a new land, where catharsis rules and BFG tracers run aplenty

Since its just a berserk pack which doesnt help much on this level the torch could've had an other fire color like the torch secret in doom 2 map 22. But the secret torch no different at all than the others is really a bit dumb :(

Hey decino, I'm trying to set up PrBoom+, but my skybox is rendered more like a billboard sprite instead of a cylinder like yours is. It's causing some really ugly warping on the edges of the screen. What setting do I have wrong?

By the way... As for now, I think, Valiant deserves its own game. You may not believe me, but I really got interested in it's story and plot. Is episodes 3 and 4 are different stages of bio-engineered apocalypse? Or it is a same stage, but in different conditions? E2 is clearly the 1-st stage. Damn, somebody, give Skillsaw a Source SDK, 3-dsmax and Audacity. And bag of money, so he don't need anything while doing this thing.
