Oooo, I like those sound replacements. Chunky! I like the gameplay on this one. Lots to kill, but never overwhelming. The hot air balloon was particularly nice. And the steampunk aesthetic still works really well. I like that they still had some dialog in there too with that plasma secret. (Plus a couple seconds of voice acting. 😁) Good stuff.

A few random tidbits on this map from development: - The hot air balloon segment was originally supposed to be a secret area according to 40oz. - The project lead gave all of the NPCs names, the old timer hiding in the secret is Chauncey. - The intermission music was originally intended to be used on the credits map.

What a way to kick off the real meat of the wad! Perfectly appropriate adventurous music (from Power Stone), tame but high octane action, lots of secrets with powerful equipment, and even a speedrunner-friendly shortcut. What more can you ask for? Good work on the megasphere secret, lad! That one COMPLETELY stumped me to the point where I had to look it up in the map editor. Apparently I was not having a brainy day that time, because I totally overlooked that small step wit the red light 😅 The electric plasma is neat, fits the setting perfectly and I love it. But can we take a moment to appreciate the lever action shotgun and how _satisfying_ it sounds?! 🤩 That is possibly my favourite aesthetic redesign for a basic vanilla weapon ever.

In my own playthrough, this is the only map I didn't pistol start, simply for the sake of parity with buying the shotgun in level 1

Didn't know Doom had an option to show X / Y stats only when at 100%, and otherwise just show X. Nice touch!
