I have to do this on both of my doors. Thanks for the video to give me a little visual representation of what I need to do. Thank you. Appreciate it.

The guy at auto zone said that the roller assembly was held onto the replacement roller pin with a clip of sorts, and all I needed to do was take the new roller part off of the doorman assembly and attach it to the pin that is pressed in. Not looking forward to a whole Sawzall adventure. But thanks for the mcguyver video....very helpful!

My father has been telling me to replace the entire hinge but I wanted a cheaper option with less welding. This video has made that possible, thank you!

I've watched three videos on this procedure. Not one of these people believe in owning or using a punch. Seriously, they are not expensive. Get some.

Thanks for tip about grinding the knurls down. Many say this doesn't fit. Other video shows a guy beating it in with a hammer, though off camera he increases hole size. Reviews say these Dorman units break soon.. I suspect beating on it weakens the roller shaft. I just ordered one so will see how it goes. I'll also oil the roller and detent pivots to reduce stress on the roller shaft.

This video helped alot. I have a 1990 chevy silverado k1500. Thanks bro

You don't need to grind the pin down. Clean the holes with sand paper and a metal or brash prush.

Great info and just what I needed visually. Your audio got weak in places just cause of the mic.

If it were me, I would work red grease into the roller before installation. After installation, I would also add grease to the outside of the roller and detents. If it is a really nice vehicle, I would mask off and paint all the non-contact places on the bare metal parts before assembly.
