I hope they put in an option for level to not auto complete once all the enemies are killed. It feels kind of arcade-y to me so the option to turn it off would be nice. It would be even better if it was just a feature and if you hadn't cleared all of them you lose points or fail.
@macdjord4 жыл бұрын
Eh. Unless there are non-enemy-combatant threats - booby traps or something - then once the last enemy is down, there is no longer any risk. It would be *realistic* to require the player to continue clearing the remaining area carefully, but there wouldn't be any actual *gameplay* in it, because there's no risk of losing anything other than time. * Someone who's just playing for fun would find it boring and a waste of time and effort * Someone who's playing simulationist like Controlled Pairs might appreciate the realism, but it wouldn't actually *add* anything to the experience * The only people who'd be materially affected would be those who are trying to optimize their metrics - finish levels in minimum time, zero casualties, all hostiles killed - and they're already going to be taking unrealistic risks and choices to save time There's also the problem of how would you define 'fully cleared'? You'd have to track every part of the map and whether the player had checked it. You'd have to give the player a way to view this information so they aren't stuck in a level because they missed one corner of the bathroom. You'd have to track areas that *were* cleared but the player didn't keep them covered so now they need to be checked again - without getting those mixed up with places that are no longer under direct observation but are still cleared because the player swept the map systematically.

10:40, bit of a mistake. the front guy drops his primary to deploy a flashbang while standing. the guy behind him has no shot on the zone the front guy was covering. right on queue, as the flash is being deployed, an enemy moves into the zone, and no one can engage him, but he can engage the entire stack. Luckily, he doesn't take a shot, but there are 3-4 seconds there where he could have wiped 2-3 of your guys. Either the second man should have thrown the flash, or moved slightly outboard to cover while the flash was deployed, or even an over/under formation, although throwing a flash from kneeling might not be optimum. A lucky escape.

A marksman on the corner directly above the insertion point worked wonders for me. I used three assaulters and immediately pushed on the locked door, blowing it with a slap charge and fighting from the breach. At the same time, my marksman just kept on taking out the enemies that were coming through the open space at the top. And apparently, the enemy likes to hide out in bathrooms, since I encountered two guys in the first one as well.

Got the game a few days ago, I've been enjoying the heck out of it! Your other Door Kickers vids were super helpful for learning the game's mechanics and the thought process one should have when planning for these scenarios - definitely made my first couple hours go much more smoothly 👍 For me, this was the first mission where i felt the difficulty really starting to ramp up, so it's cool to see how you went about it. I took a pretty similar approach, excpet i took two grenadiers and used smoke to block line of sight on that first breach, which allowed us to get cross coverage on those dead spaces very quickly and with basically no risk. Smoke in this game is kinda wonky, but it can be very useful in certain situations.

Massive error at 18:17 the two men should have crossed at the end of the hallway, giving them a better view as they come round their respective corners. With the South man slightly ahead of the North, since he would be looking north west at a much bigger area. End of the mission was even worse. Once you got to the last room, you should have sent a man all the way back round to check the entire exterior was clear, before trying to clear the final room from inside. As I like to say, you should treat the outside space as one big room to be cleared. Until it is clear, enemies can move about in this huge "room," and your back will never be clear.

As a combat veteran who's cleared his fair share of rooms, my only concern is the fact that you always see the layout before the mission begins. Maybe you don't have the layout, or if you do have the layout you still don't know the position of items inside those spaces.

I agree! There should be a system to allow you to spend "Intel points" or some other nonsense. 10 points - UAS does a flyover and gets you a decent view. 20 points - Spy gets inside and gets you a sketch. 30 Points - description of where the baddies are etc.

Any day with a new DK2 vid from you is a good day! I had a question about CQB IRL if you don't mind. It seems that entering a room without "prepping" it with something first is incredibly dangerous as both parties will probably see each other at the same time and it will be a 50/50 fight. Is that fair to say? When this situation happens in DK2, what determines who shoots first? Is it random?

@@ControlledPairsGaming @meflower based on the weapon used and distance, a character will have a different way of engaging which determines things like how quickly the target is engaged, how it is engaged (single shot/burst fire etc.), and other things like accuracy and crit chance.
