i can already see the flaws of Yggdrasil. sure she's a powerhouse, but all of her things can be dodged through. all you need to do is learn the ranges that are safe, since at certain ranges she can fuck you over into an unavoidable hit, and how to deal with the lightning and you can survive her just fine in most cases.

@@Bears5056 considering i'm a top player in 2 different fighting games i think i've got a little clout to say something...yes she most certainly isn't some super easy thing to scoff at, but once you learn how she works i doubt she'll pose much problem in most cases. for instance, Homura in Nitroplus Blasters was considered OP due to how her Variable Rush worked and quick movement was. she also had several ways to get you into her "Arial Rave", even off a well placed counter hit she could do it. but after facing her for a while people found that all you needed to do was simply stand as soon as you saw her go for her variable rush as they knew it was full screen tracking overhead they also knew due to her quick speed all they had to rely on was their Vanish Guard and it would allow them to effectively counter her quick speed because it would allow them to instantly attack back. it's all about learning. Yggdrasil i'm sure will most likely not be easy to get around at first even if you can see the flaws. just because you know the flaws doesn't mean you can initially get around them after all. you still have to learn how to exploit those flaws.

This is a high level Charlotta and it still did this much. I get Lowaine is a weaker character, but is the solution to really push everything into his super? It really is just eat chip from lightning and dodge lava if you have the health. Also it is netplay, so even slight lag will make it difficult to dodge properly. Also to IceLurker, just because it is a high level charlotta, doesn't mean the Charlotta has put in a lot of time learning the dodge timings for the super. To be frank though, I'm a lowain main, so I'm going to say it is fine. It is funny that it is such a hard knowledge check on a game that is supposed to be new player friendly.

It feels and plays like an ArcSys fighter (Guilty Gear, Blazblue, DBFZ, etc.) but simplified. Every character has several varieties of auto combo rather than LMH launcher progression and special moves have (optional) Smash Bros. style inputs.

@@pedrojackson8416 Its simpler like DBFZ but it's much slower. If you are looking for something like MvC Granblue isnt anything like that. If you've ever played a King of the Fighters game the pace kind of reminds me of that; a little faster paced than Street Fighter but not over the top.

His super puts him in control of the giant woman and makes the enemy play a mini game of dodging. You cant kill him in that phase so you are at the complete mercy and pray that you live

One super is the KBSN, which causes the bros to take formation for a duration. They cant be put into any form of stun, but also can't block. Their new attacks deal a good chunk of damage, and using the charge ends it prematurely. The Super Skybound causes Yggdrasil to appear and allows the Lowain player to take control. From there, they have access to 4 different attacks that deal chip damage on block. During this, Yggdrasil can sustain damage that passes to Lowain, but they can't be KO'd. Hope this clears it up a little bit.

Lowain and his bros like to daydream...a lot. The Yugu he has as his Super Skybound Art is just a delusion he has, which is why when he wins with her, it cuts to them sleeping. It's the same reason you see Robo Katalina (Katapillar), it's based on the delusion that she was turned into a robot and is controlled by Vira.

Looks like it, the long cooldown suggests it and there's no "Good!" notification either. They're also doing it with the Shining Onslaught. It's very difficult to land those in the middle of some combos with the technical inputs, being a charge move after all

Doesn't change anything about the fact that it's bullshit that if you don't happen to get a combo that carries Lowain from pre SSBA Life to death, he can just make you play a minigame for like 10 seconds for free on frame 1 invulnerable startup with no risk and no way for you to punish him if he just finishes Ygg with the close-up Earth spikes. It's just not interactive, it's like your opponent goes off into another room while you have to play Mario Party with your little brother for the Evo Title.

During the flip Charlotta can react to antiair with the hard overhead, effectively delaying her fall and catching the punish. If you try to move or dodge Charlotta can just not press anything and she'll go into the sweep with autocorrect.

You can actually use that super to end combos, the Yggdrasil super is shockingly less useful. You can react to all her moves in a way that stops you from getting hit except for the stone pillars, which you can just block. depending on character you can also punish Lowain as soon as it ends. You'll definitely see the Yggdrasil super drop off in usage.

Like people need a guide on how to use the most broken ult in the game. Great video, but this cements why I hate Lowain players, specifically for the ult. @@Wtftruck that changes anything how? like just as an example, DBFZ GT Goku was a problem from jump and he's still a menace. There's setups for you to guarantee people eat tons of chip if not all the damage of one of her moves. You literally have to kill lowain above 30% HP to not have to deal with a move that can pretty much deal 25%+ HP regardless of if you block or not. On top of that you can't kill him in the state meaning that even if you are offensive he still has basically 7 seconds to blow you up with chip and no punishment coming cause the recovery is a joke. That's not really fair. Especially for a game that's trying to be easy to pick up. Compare all of that to every other skybound where you can actually block it at 30% health and not die or have the game turned on its head cause someone used their skybound to eviscerate your life unless you're a god at reacting online And before you say all her moves can be avoided, Yes, but they're also damn near instant and delay makes it harder. There's also, again, setups so you can guarantee people eat all that chip from lightning

I love Lowain as a character, but Yggdrasil is a bit too strong. Having to play the floor is hot lava is terrible.

The issue being that after people learn the match up, it'll be almost impossible to KO with Yggdrasil in tourney play. The lava can be spot dodged, you can run away from the lightning, Axis Mundi can be jumped over or spot dodged. The rock pillars are near instant, so you're best just blocking if you can. Either way, Yggy is also a Super Skybound, so Lowain has to be in the red to use it to begin with. I think once people have figured out the optimised combos and learned how best to fight Yggdrasil, Lowain will struggle a bit, since he'll effectively be down a super.

Scarfy Junior While i agree that once people will learn how to deal with yggy it will be a little easier but at the same time the yggy player can also learn as well. And yggy has little risk as it’s a frame one super and you aren’t really going to attack yggy. you can punish lowain when he comes back but that’s easier said than done as yggy can easily push you back if you block and delay her timing if you evade and you need to be really quick to punish him which is most likely a poke. Yes yggy can be dealt with but again easier said than done on a good lowain player.
