Jailing Sargeras isn't a mistake, it's the Primal Incarnates' ideals of breaking Azeroth free from the Titan's grasp that's the one true mistake ever and I have a good reason for it.

I think sargerus might have plunged the sword for 2 reasons, it could be that it was one last chance to destroy azeroth, but it could also be if that failed he knew the sword could somehow be used to fight the void lords, so that even if he was gone, his ultimate goal could still be realized.

I don't think it's been retconned, but as far as I remember, the Void Lords can't exist on our plane for long, and not without expending huge amounts of energy. With that in mind, the Void Lords themselves have never invaded Azeroth, or any planet for that matter. They flung out corporeal agents in the form of the Old Gods in a sort of blind, scatter-dash way to see what they could land on and effect, but never set foot (tentacle?) anywhere outside their own realm. Happy to be corrected on this.

So I think Sargeras being imprisoned was not a mistake. He likely wouldn’t have been able to defeat the Void lords on his own, but Azeroth can, and he tried to kill her.

@Doronsmovies - Something I've never seen addressed anywhere is why Sargeras manifests as an entity engulfed in elemental fire; not fel fire... elemental fire. And with the release of Dragonflight, we see that Sargeras' body bares a striking resemblance to that of the djaradin. Additionally, the cinematic involving Sargeras always bothered me; he could have manifested at any time and cleaved the planet, if his intent was to destroy. Instead, he sent his armies and watched from above. We misconstrued his actions, believing that he intended to destroy the planet with that fateful plunge of his sword... That's not what it looks like to me. It felt more like he was aiming for the titan machinery that was encasing Azeroth. His intent was to desstroy the machinery, not the world soul.

Warlocks enslave demon utilized fel to turn demons subservient, so how did that even work on a void walker? @Doronsmovies Great video, but I feel like you're missing something quite crucial to this entire plot. In Shadowlands and via the Chronicle, we learn that the Void is an integral cosmological power created by the First Ones, so clearly they fit into things somehow and have a purpose, so why would they be villains of a scope any more devastating than what we've faced? Order, Life, Light, Shadow, Death Disorder are all one of the six major powers. Zereth Mortis insinuated pretty heavily that they were part of some great design long ago. If that's the case, then any one of those 6 powers could represent a more or less equal threat to everything, including the Light. The Jailer mentioned some kind of other threat out there far worse, so if anything, we're just crippling all possible allies against that great, unseen enemy. It has probably been manipulating us for ages now, using us to systematically dismantle all the major obstacles in its way, and the Void is just another one of those obstacles. All I'm getting from the way wow's lore is going is "All the big six powers suck and don't care about anyone." they are all just fanatics trying to pursue their own agenda and we're all caught in the middle of this 6 way cosmic war between them all.

Na it was his final attempt to free Azeroth from her cell that the Titans incased it in before the Titan machines fully corrupt her. he wanted to crack open the prison the Titans confined Azeroth in. Azeroth is a first one that the titans tricked and captured. Shoot I have been saying it for years, we will get a light vs void expansion. Im guessing though that Illidan kills Saragaras, Saragaras tells Illidan about what's really happening and why he did what he did, Tells illidan about the pantheon being the baddies and how to unlock the secrets of his sword, Illidan runs away from pantheon and back to Azeroth. Dragonflight ends with us 'beginning our own path free of old gods and titan influence' void expansion starts with us discovering the secrets of the big sword that are schematics to a ship that can travel into the void an weapons/tools made specifically for fighting the void. half the expansion is a void invasion and the other half is us going into the void. At this point, having the Void be the ultimate villains of the Warcraft universe seems hugely disappointing and anticlimactic. I'd be more satisfied if the 6 cosmological forces were all treated as morally neutral, with players being allowed to pick and choose which force they'd align themselves with. The fans deserve a mind-blowing conclusion to a game that many of us have devoted years to. Yes, there are in-game features that give the game a lot of replay ability including class/race diversity, but the storyline itself has to be solid to set this game apart from other great RPGS and MMORPGS. I want to believe that there's more to the game than the quest for the shiniest sword/ax or the shootiest bow/gun. If we are really supposed to save the universe (which has gotten quite silly by this point), it would be nice if the story would start becoming a bit clearer.
