This is my longplay of Mode A in Double Dragon for the Game Boy played on an Analogue Pocket with an Everdrive-GB X7 using the Analogue Pocket "mint" color scheme in GBC mode. I managed to make it through the run I recorded deathless. The game glitched out for a few seconds right when the end screen was supposed to load, I'm not sure what the deal was with that. The first half of the game is pretty much a breeze to get through. Things only start getting rough in the last couple of levels with the weird jumps and those stupid vacuum doors that are all instant death. The area in the final level right before the end boss with the blocks shooting out of the walls randomly is also kind of BS since they can make you fall into the death pit if you get unlucky with how they're spawning. If you do happen to die, you have to start the entire level over from the very beginning, which again isn't a really big deal except for the final level. The AI is fairly easy to manipulate so they won't even attack you 95% of the time. The weapons and throwable pickups in the game are largely a waste of time since the majority of them despawn after all of the current enemies on the screen are dead. I think they made the size of the sprites really good in this port. They're just large enough that they're recognizable even on the small handheld screen and they're not filling up too much of the screen. Overall this seems like a decent port of the first Double Dragon game.
