My dad and I used to go to the bowling alley and play this, rolling thunder, and black tiger. Double Dragon was the first arcade game we beat. This game hit like an atomic bomb when it dropped in the arcades. I remember people (and myself) would mob up to play the game co-op on repeat, just would not stop until they beat the game, then the next pair would start. I wouldn't see people mob a cabinet like that until Street Fighter II. We were all a bit non-plussed by the NES release of Double Dragon. We were hoping to 2 Player co-op and only had that on the vs. mode. We wondered how'd it play on the NES because it had 2 buttons while the arcade had 3. We weren't impressed or cared for the A+B = Jump/kick mechanic at the time. We just didn't get as to why it wasn't like the arcade. No on around me at the time had a Master System so I didn't get to try that version until the early 90s.

Technos Japan messed up that opportunity so many times. Starting by porting DD 1, 2, and 3 on 8-bit consoles, the worst one being the Atari 2600. They were also too busy remaking the original, some good and others bad.

This video is not a reupload of my Double Dragon from years ago - my old content is too shit in comparison to my new content, so am making better videos. I am re covering topics of the past to give my audience better content on some of the most important games in history. The script is different, the edit is different, the voice over is different even all the equipment used was different too. So much work goes into these, so please don't claim they are re-releases when they simply are not.
