Yeah, Rogue took me several listens to warm up to it. After reading and understanding the lyrics, the music started making sense and I am in love with it now. Green Serpent is a 100 for me, probably their very best work all around. Great reaction, thank you!

Rouge was raw in your face, ground, and pound pissed off at Putin. Jinjer is not pulling any punches. It did take me a few listens to warm up to. The Green Serpent is a great example of Jinjer and Tatiana kocking it out of the park. A solid banger.

"Rogue" has been a grower for me - I was pretty lukewarm on it at first, but it has really worked its way into my brain. I love it, especially the dissonant chords, the two groovy sections in the middle, and Tati's guttural "RRRROGUE!". Maybe you should give it some time. "Green Serpent" features some of my favourite vocal melodic composition from Tati, & I love her extensive use of her *gorgeous* head voice in this piece, a part of her vocal repertoire that we've heard very little of before. The section with the combined guitar & bass tapping with great tom drum groove is incredible, & I love the Opethy outro. Even the stripped down, simple chuggy riffs in the last two heavy sections are a welcome addition, as Jinjer fans usually have to struggle to head bang to Jinjer's weird rhythms & unusual, shifting time signatures (which I also love, of course). It's a *great* song, destined to be a Jinjer classic, IMO.

Another one here to say Rogue was definitely a grower on me after you really get the lyrics. Good to see Jinjer again 😊

Rogue, like Ape took a few listens for me but now they’re my favorites by Jinjer next to Noah and Cloud Factory. Great reaction.

Both are personal songs. In "Rogue" Tatiana is cursing Putin and the Russian army laying waste to her country. "Green Serpent" is a brave song about people struggling with alcoholism. The Green Serpent is an Eastern European metaphor for alcoholism. (Tatiana has posted that she is 2 years sober). She and the band have a lot of talent but it takes guts to expose one's struggles.

lol Green Serpent is metaphorically referred to alcohol in russian. Bitten by green serpent in slavic tradition is symbolic of alcoholism and the depths of intoxication/addiction.....as for the song, the opeth outro is cool. Middle LOG breakdown is cool. Also kinda sounds like an angular proggy album cut on first listen, but quickly turns out to be a banger😂😂.....also tati looks hot here 😂😂 Also rogue is basically an all harshes no cleans proggy djenty groovy dissonant banger with a pinch of math metal....jinjer do whatever they want 😂😂

I don't know that I would have come up with the Gojira comparison, but I get it. I like Rouge, but I greatly prefer Green Serpent. I'm excited for the album. Antlers

Recommend to listen to more Blues, where you have the build up you are longing for 😅

No two the same with Jinjer.

you cannot compare Jinjer's compositional complexity with Gojira. At least, both have amazing prodigy drummers

Linkin Park 😂 really?

Linkin Park is very topical (what with the new album), so any Metalcore review tends to drag them in -- whether the comparison is appropriate or not.
