"I love this video! I've been trying to grow potatoes at home, but I haven't been having much luck. This tip is exactly what I needed. I can't wait to try it out and see if it helps me get bigger tubers."

I'm scratching my head at how the roots being shallow as they were and having the small potatoes on them is probably the true harvest and everything else is store bought.

I'm also scratching my head, at13:59 he is digging the potatoes so deep underground but the potatoes come out green!

Mohon penjelasannya..

There was a time in my life when I had to grow potatoes so as not to starve. Neighbors gave potatoes to plant (they grew them themselves, leaving a box of change). I read everything I could find about unusual gardening and did the following: I washed the potatoes, cut each in half (there was only a small box of potatoes and the need to plant two) and I cut it according to the rule. so that there were eyes on each side. Then I soaked it for a day in water with some medicine added that prevents rotting and stimulates growth. The next day I rolled each half in ashes and dried it a little in the sun. By that time the garden had already been dug up. In addition, black beans were soaked in jars. We planted like this: I made a furrow with a hoe, about 50 cm apart, put the cut half of the potato face down (shoots up), next to it were two pieces of beans and a teaspoon of tapioca starch. fertilizer. Then, with a hoe, a mound of earth was made along the ridge (as when hoeing). .... Then my gardening story developed as follows: the first thing that popped out of the ground was of course the beans (the neighbors around me giggled in their hands). So the potato sprouts sprouted. After about two or three weeks, the beans began to sprout vigorously 😂.... We collected several buckets of milky bean pods during the summer. What did we do with them? Eat them raw. I also discovered a delicious dish (this is also a successful culinary experiment): I chopped the pods together with the young seeds in a meat grinder, added onions, spices, salt and fried everything in a frying pan. Finally I added tomato paste. The finished dish felt like fried minced meat. And it was delicious!!!!!! Well, what about the potatoes? She has grown up. And when we harvested at the end of summer, we were surprised: under each bush there were about 4 to 6 fairly large, even tubers. As a result, from a small useless potato bucket we grew two bags of wonderful tubers! And when we dug up the garden for the winter, we found that the entire ground was covered with small nodules from bean bushes - an excellent fertilizer for the soil, because... these are nodules that contain nitrogen. The neighbors giggled, as surprised as I was by this result. And the following year, everyone experimented with legumes on their plots 😁 It was a fun experience with a great result! I am sharing it with you, dear gardeners and gardeners.

I really love the way is being cultivated can you plant it direct to the ground?

Maybe we can try planting it directly in the ground and see if it grows into a magical beanstalk!

Why putting straw? Is it to resist soil evaporation?
@DIYGardenIdeas6 ай бұрын
Thanks for asking! Yes, straw helps reduce evaporation and also acts as a natural weed barrier.

Varias batatas removidas sem raiz da terra. Muito estranha a colheita. Parece que as batatas foram compradas no mercado , fepois foram enterradas para serem colhidas em uma produção milagrosa sem raízes
