One of the most famous experiments in physics is the double slit experiment. It demonstrates, with unparalleled strangeness, that little particles of matter have something of a wave about them, and suggests that the very act of observing a particle has a dramatic effect on its behaviour.
To start off, imagine a wall with two slits in it. Imagine throwing tennis balls at the wall. Some will bounce off the wall, but some will travel through the slits. If there's another wall behind the first, the tennis balls that have travelled through the slits will hit it. If you mark all the spots where a ball has hit the second wall, what do you expect to see? That's right. Two strips of marks roughly the same shape as the slits.

It was nice and I am curious to know some answers. What will happen if; 1. The observation device is on but no one is looking at it while doing the experiment ? 2. Does the experiment in different conditions, vacuum or different mediums/ space or no gravity / isolated from every other radiation to avoid interference or expose to different wavelengths ? 3. Using different particles like different atoms, electrons, protons, photons, subatomic particles, ions ? 4.And doesn't it matter the position of the detector in front of the slit or behind the slit, or the detector making any effect on it ?

The conundrum was not about the correlation with presence and absence of consciousness, it was about the ontological explanation on the nature of wavefunction. That's why we have many interpretations. Regardless of the interpretation, every postulates of quantum mechanics are rightly verified. Observer effect has nothing to do with the consciousness of the observer. It depends on how we measure the presence of electron passing through detector. The photons we use for the detection will collapse the single electron wavefunction changing the hamiltonian of the system and the collapsed wavefunction is a highly localized wave within the limits of Heisenberg's uncertainty. Electrons are not switching between particle and wave nature, there are no such distinction, there's only the wavefunction, the collapsed one and the original coherent wave which evolve according to Schrodinger's equation.
