Keep up the great videos Doc and good luck with the power outages.

We lost power again a few nights ago. I can’t believe just how normal this has become. Clouds roll in, power banks and gennies roll out. Clockwork!

Great prices on these vtoman products this one is going for about 660 and the jump 1800 is going for 599$. The jump1800 has 1800 watt inverter with 3600 peak watts. Max 200 watt charging input, the handle on top makes it unstackable. No true UPS. Although the pass through charging enables it to be used as UPS with limitations. Dc charching voltage is between 12v to about 30v.

10:37 "Do you have what you need?" + 12:56 "If you don't have something, you need to act."= Doc sounding EXACTLY like SensiblePrepper 🤣 Having said that, very informative video that made me realize that I am one of those who DOES need something to survive power outages, so thank you for the great video. 🙏

Can you connect the 1500 flashpeed unit to a vtoman 1800 1st gen unit as an extra battery?

Hello again, Doc Thank you for another Great Video 👍 Doc, in your area do you have access to natural gas, if so, you might be a candidate for a whole house generator. I did enjoy watching the video. Be sure to have a great weekend. Again thank you 👌

Honestly George, I’d rather just downsize to the point I don’t have to worry about it much. I have natural gas, the option for wood fire heating and plenty of water nearby. Lately I’ve begun to quit his whole civilized society thing.

These thing are all toys to me. Why not just get a Generac whole house gen with a transfer switch and be done with it? I'm in Florida and we have hurricanes. Been without power pre gen for close to 2 weeks. Never again. I have a 22kw for a 3200sq ft house. It runs the house as if it were on the grid. There is no difference. If you don't have natural gas it would require a propane tank. Fortunately we have natural gas. For the A/C's you need load sheds.

Was the resulting natural gas bill ungodly or reasonable?

@@lcoop89 I have a Rinnai 199,000 BTU tankless water heater, gas dryer, gas cooktop and the generator which runs 10 minutes a week to exercise. My gas bill runs about $50 per month. We have had the generator close 4 years and thankfully it's only had to come on a few times not more than a few hours. I have been without electric during previous hurricanes for close to 2 weeks. I said never again. Once we moved and built a new house the gen. was the first priority after we closed. We run the dryer a lot and use a lot of hot water too. My electric bill in the summer running 2 A/C's fairly constant in So. Fl. is around $350. Fully insulated attic 3200 sq ft. I have a third A/C in one of the garages a mini split but I hardly run that unless I am doing a project in there. During the winter electric drops to about $225 to $250 gas is pretty constant.

Thanks for the offer. One of my survival buddies lives in boulder. He used to run a survival company, did training, even had a tv show.

Guy trying to make excuses for no automatic switch over extra battery to base unit lol (LIKE THE EXTRA BATTERY MANUAL SAYS IT DOES!!) - that's the way VTOMAN advertised it and the basis on which I bought them last February, last February anyway - pretty much destroyed its overall functionality for me , very very disappointed - Vtoman sent me another flash speed 1500 and said it was fixed - NOT, LOL SAME DEFECT - at least I got a second free flash speed 1500 - AND I EVENTUALLY HOOKED THEM UP TOGETHER AC OUT ON ONE INTO THE CHARGING PORT OF THE OTHER AND THEY DID WORK SUCCESSFULLY TOGETHER AS A BASE UNIT AND AN "EXTRA BATTERY" AUTOMATIC SWITCH OVER WHEN THE FIRST ONE DEPLETED AND ALSO CHARGING UP TOGETHER SO IN FACT I DID GET WHAT I ORIGINALLY WANTED 🙂🙂
