I built the daycare on Expo Blvd. and the city provided the hazardous waste bins, and I got the decent bottle guys to do oversight on the playground in place of keeping the cans for them for friday p/u. It actually worked. they'd also tell me when sketchy theft punks were around (usually just released) and we'd secure the place. (the daycare is west of the playground on the second floor between the two high rises on the east side of Expo. Blvd. You have to have a solution. Indian Johnny started a no-alcohol tent camp and the city and the poverty pimps (those who get a check for this bs) shut him down.

I think it is too late. This malevolent, but legal drug addiction support thing alone has so much momentum. I lived in Singapore for 4 months. In four months of doing door to door evangelism for a local church in Singapore I never sniffed marijuana once in the hallways of the multiple highrises I visited. I never saw public intoxication. Heroin was out of the question as trafficking meant a death sentence and minor possession meant a period of incarcertion and labour at Changai prison along with mandatory rehab. The year I was in Singapore (2011), no Singaporeans died of overdose, one foreigner died of overdose, meaning one person died in Singapore from a heroin overdose out of a population of over 5 million people and that person was a foreigner. Three people were executed for drug trafficking and a few went to jail and rehab for minor possession. All other crime is rare. I think if memory serves me correct there were 8 homicides in 2011 and robberies and thefts are also extremely rare. Interestingly, because the health care system isn't dealing with constant overdoses and isn't handing out free needles and sex change operations there is no wait list for knee replacements (a low income friend of mine got her knee replacement when I was there 2 days after her doctor told her she needed one) and the income tax rate is 15% for most Singaporeans and maxes out at 20% for those who earn over $300,000. When you compare Singapore to Canada you realize we have a very sick country right now.

I live in the city of Oshawa. Ever since Dan Carter became mayor the city has dropped off a cliff. A friend Ashley Wicket was fined $250 by the city for feeding and clothing the homeless. I know countless others that have been fined as well but you can watch what happened to Ashley because rebel news was there. My mayor is active cultivating this problem by having citizens fined for reaching out to help these people.

As well meaning as consumption sites are, they have a tendency to concentrate the drug seeking culture in one area to take advantage of free services. That concentration of customers is great for dealers who are more efficient at luring new customers into the game. Our governments should not be involved in the doubtful task of enabling the very behavior they are trying to extinguish. It was a fairy tale to think housing the homeless in hotels, offering free food and even free drugs would do anything but make the problem worse.

It can be done. There were 18,000 people experiencing homelessness in Finland when the country first launched its effort to tackle the issue in 1987. At the end of 2022, the figure had dropped to 3,686 in the country and only 492 people in 2022 spent the night outside without shelter. Their target is the complete eradication of homelessness by 2027....and they are on schedule.
