I like all the more personal moments of the show like when Clint is calling his family or when Kate goes to celebrate Christmas with Clint. It really adds a lot to the MCU, showing more of these characters' lives beyond the superhero stuff and all the things they have to give up or put on hold to be heroes.

I only just signed onto Disney+ to watch Peter Jackson’s “Get Back”. Hawkeye is the first MCU show I’ve seen on this network, followed by Black Widow. I think watching it in this order gave me the perspective that I don’t think Yelena came to take out Hawkeye. In Widow, Natasha told Yelena about how Clint saved her, how much he means to her. I think when Yelena got the order to take out Clint, I don’t think she believed “Elaine” (don’t remember her MCU character name). I think Yelena will team up with Clint to find out why they’re trying to pin Natasha’s death on Clint in memory of her sister. I think people are reading this wrong. If Yelena came to kill Clint, or kill Kate, she’d have been MUCH more lethal.

An interesting take. But why in your opinion does she attack him at all? As to your point about Yelena and Kate: Yelena attached the line to Kate before throwing her off the roof, so you're right about her not going for the kill. It also implies Kate's mom sent Yelena.

@@Rockscissorspaper it seems Kate’s mom is too easy a guess, especially when there was that scene where she calls “someone” about Clint after their meeting. Set up? Pay off? Too easy. Anyways, I think Yelena could be keeping up the ruse that she’s “attacking” Hawkeye until she learns more, then will clue Hawkeye in. It’s just too laid out to there not being a twist, especially that Natasha told Yelena about what Clint did for her in Widow’s movie. She probably wouldn’t kill Kate anyways since she became ‘good’ , her moral code intact by not killing innocents

We would expect Yelena to do her own scouting of Hawkeye before the 'hit' and see that he's been protective of Kate and does everything to 'manage loss'. "Full Circle" closure for Natasha's arc that her sister would return the favor.

She can find out Clint worked with her sister, has a son named after her sister and saved the world with her sister. Natasha Romanoff sacrificed her life so half the universe could live. That was a success, not a failure. I don't understand why people don't honor her sacrifice. Steve Rogers was willing to sacrifice his life to stop a grenade from injuring his squad and again to stop a bomb from killing hundreds. Black Widow saved billions. The best way to honor her sacrifice is to protect the reason she chose to die. Kate Bishop is gonna continue to be a vigilante with or without Hawkeyes help. Hes better off guiding her so she doesn't get herself killed. You're still responsible for actions that occur if you choose to do nothing to prevent them.

This episode was awesome, I was a little disappointed that the ball wasn't moved further down the court by the end of it but at the same time all the character development kind of made that acceptable. I have to say though my favorite part of this episode was the casual swearing by Kate Bishop, it was really refreshing to see Disney allowing people to talk like people talk. If someone hit that coin off the TV like that you're going to say holy shit, it was really cool that Disney actually allowed her to say that instead of something like oh golly gee that was amazing. I'm glad the mouse is letting Marvel grow up a little.

Loki called Black Window a "quim" in Avengers. Stark made a dark sexual joke in Age of Ultron when he attempted to lift Mjolnir. Even Steve Rogers said 'shit!" in that same movie. Peter Parker said "holy shit" in Civil War. Infinity War was about as dark as things can get. It's always been there.

@@silvasurfa7962 I'm not saying there hasn't always been an element of it, but most of what you stated happened in Phase 1 and 2 when Marvel has an little less formulaic. They're also usually toss away lines or in the case of quim, basically no one knew what that even was, so it's a nonstarter. Overall Marvel is super PG, they quip and comment but seriously if you saw all sorts of stuff blowing up you'd be saying "shit" every other word. But outside of very occasional 1 offs per a couple movies, it's not all that common. Where as in this scene she says it twice almost back to back. It's just nice to see them being a little more loose.

From the conversations Clint was having with his wife in this episode there is just no way she was just a bartender or something that happened to get married to a superhero. I think she was probably a SHIELD agent or something and retired after having kids. I don’t think Hawkeye and the Swordsman are connected in this universe. They’ve radically changed the backstory of these characters (like how in the comics Hawkeye is an irresponsible bachelor who grew up in the circus before joining the Avengers)

Also pretty much every other Avenger with a significant other is dating someone else who was somewhat in the game. Peggy Carter, Pepper Potts, Jane Foster, Betty Ross. These aren't just random women they met on Tinder. They are all people who would be qualified to speak on superhero stuff.

This is the very first time I've seen any marvel character carry the weight of the aftermath of infinity war and actually believe. This trauma of losing your loved ones for 5 years and seeing how hopeless that was. This dynamic is what I expected in far from home but what did they do? Make a montage joke of the blip and made it no big deal. Like not even peter parker or aunt may had any concern of each others safety. Idk it just felt relatable to finally see what the blip actually did to someone.

@DoubleToasted In the comics Hawkeye love interest was Laura who was in the west coast avengers as a hero named mockingbird. In age of ultra Tony pointed out his suspicions that she has to be an agent. Nick fury also in age of ultron hinted that he knows who she is when they was at clints house. She may have been an ex agent at shield and went under the name of mockingbird which is why she is so calm and seems to know some things about avengers and his business and items from shield.

Good show so far, my favorite of the disney plus ones - and I think Martin may be right, that will be hard to wrap up in 2 weeks. I also think he is more like the Ultimate version of the character - who was more military and more of a family man. Thank you guys I've been saying the same thing everybody's trying to compare the shows which one's better or whatever just like each show for what it is individually. I have liked every Marvel show so far period again for what you said different reasons. I remember when wandavision first came out people were grumbling cuz they didn't get it like sit and watch the show and wait. Then it was Falcon and Winter Soldier was too political just sit and watch the show and enjoy it as a whole. Ohnoki's hands-down the best show been 4 episodes then you see the internet going so I didn't like that episode episode ruin it like no it didn't watch the show as a whole. I think we do that too much these days with everything whether it's entertainment music or Sports it's like we can appreciate something just based on its own merits we have to compare it alongside something else. Jeremy Renner has shown a lot of pathos with this series. I like that Hawkeye isn’t an Anti-Hero in the public eye but in reality he is. An assassin that is meant to close any gaps that shield stuffed up. He’s a killer but with a heart, very Marvel. A hero that’s possibly believable.

I had very low expectations for this series and I wasn't feeling the show after episode 1, but really came on board with #2 as you see Clint and Kate's unwilling mentorship start to develop and they do more character development for him. After watching ep04, _Hawkeye_ is now my second-fav D+ show (FaTWS still being first).

I like Hawkeye. But the show was not about Hawkeye... Still a decent show, but they basically made a show about a character alot of people either are not familiar with or dont care about. Hawkeye is in the show, but its not about him. Again the show is not bad, but its about a character people have little attachment too.
