I was in a unique situation where I had 2 new Infiniti G35’s before I got my Cayman S. Same year, features, color and all. One was manual and one was automatic. I got the auto because I’d just had knee surgery and bought my mom one off the lot that was manual. Going back and forth on the two cars... I drove the manual so much more differently than the auto. It was so much more fun. It’s funny how much of a difference it makes in your driving experience. I’ve always had manuals except the one after my surgery. I love autos but it’s crazy how much it can change the experience. I don’t care if the PDK is a few tenths of a second faster or even half a second faster. It’s just a lot more fun.

SLID Tossed Pissed Elemental Into Bleu Cheese Salad Black. All my cars have been black until my most recent and only went a little away to slate grey. The auto had a tan interior and the manual a black interior. Both ended up totaled. Guy hit me going 60mph when I was at a stop. 2nd .. emergency brake replacement failed. Rolled down a really steep hill. Hit a tree. Entire front windshield shot out 30 feet. My mother’s, had it in gear too and wheels turned in but super steep. So ... was fun while had them. Heh

This car proves that the old design style of AM that is used on the DB9 line, the Vanquish, and the Vantage models, is still timeless and looks brand new even today more than a decade after the first models leaving factory. That alone should grant this car a "10" in looks. I dare you guys, find any other exotic car that is virtually unchanged in its design for over 13 years, and still looks better than the current competition.

I’d argue that, for the future, including a manual at least as a special order option isn’t a net loss. Its inclusion (especially in this V12 car) generates so much brand interest.

Rohan Iyer That's what I don't understand about all these companies switching permanently over to dual clutch transmissions. If they kept manuals as special order options, they won't lose money on building it because the person that wants that option is willing to wait for it to come from the factory and is a guaranteed sale. The people in charge of these auto companies are so stupid in that regard.

Maybe around 97% of the people who are purchasing these cars are the old money type who grew up around when manual transmissions were a “base option”, whereas DCTs are new and have performance roots. R&D costs in developing a “good” stick shift may outweigh the price the remaining 3% pay, but it’s still important to not alienate those customers from the model in question, and possibly the brand. The long-term cost of doing so may not be immediately apparent.

Awesome piece of machinery!!! And it has an standard transmission!!! Very nice. It is odd...but i am in Puerto Rico and there used to be a Jaguar/Aston Martin exclusive dealer. Not any more. I haven't seen a lot of them..not to say i ve seen none...but this car has Puerto Rico in the destination option. Love your work Doug!!!!!

Need to get out and drive one of these again. You will still be amazed 4 years on. They only ever made 260 coupes worldwide and so are a rare vehicle. A register now exists just for this vehicle which shows you how much people think of it. The last of the best and never to be repeated. Prices of these have remained stable unlike the Merc gt. Have another drive and be amazed 👍🏻
