It’s as if they thought people would see them and mistake it for a Lamborghini or something. I for one am glad they listened to consumers and toned down the ridiculous styling and lost the fake plastic vents in the rear bumper that wouldn’t have served any purpose even if they’d been real. Hey Doug, the reason the signal stalk position isn’t uniform on right hand drive cars is because Japan has it on the right side (closest to the door), but in the mid 80s (I think) the UK introduced legislation to have their vehicles and their stalks match the rest of Europe. So if you’re in a RHD and the signal stalk is on the left, it’s most likely a UK market vehicle.
@miguelmc22896 ай бұрын
Thanks captain!
@Gordanovich026 ай бұрын
Having the indicators on the right is actually copied from historical UK practice (the idea was you could operate the indicators at the same time as changing gear), we played a large part in getting Japan's auto industry up and running after the war. What a shame we didn't learn anything about quality and reliability in return! However Japanese cars with right-hand indicator stalks continued to be officially sold here well into the 00s.

Close, but not quite completely the answer. Come to Australia and you'll find a mix. Anything made in Europe or the US will still have a left side indicator, anything from a Japanese maker (or locally made) will be right stalk, and interestingly, Korean manufacturers ,despite being a LHD market, have made the effort to install right side indicators.

Our spec R and S was only cosmetics, with the spec R having the wing, sunroof and a lower body kit with lip and side skirts. Both models had the turbo SR20 but for 🇦🇺 it was detuned for our lower quality fuel and more restrictive sound laws, basically the rear muffler was a restriction and removing that brought the power back up to the JDM models. Also we didn't get the boost gauge as it didn't meet ADR rules and we had ugly square reflectors cut into the rear bumper. Also for Australia they cost cut by having only manual AC and no mirror in the visor.

Most Japanese/Australian (and NZ) built cars have their indicator on the right whilst most UK/Euro built cars have theirs on the left... and g'day from New Zealand! Love these wee Nissan's, had a 180sx back in the day - underpowered and bland but a lovely wee thing to chuck around!!!

I love the era correct radio. I’d leave that in lol! Also it’s amazing the owner left it stock and hasn’t turned it into a low rider or drift bucket. Kudos to them.

"That doesnt sound like a lot" that sounds like a crap ton of power for a stock 4 banger

Yeah but not compared to many other 4 bangers these days or overall compared to other cars in general.

Not to mention peak power numbers only tell you what the car is making at a certain RPM. You really need to know what the power/torque-band look like too to have an idea of how much grunt and what character the engine actually has.

Before they used Aero in 2003 they used Vector for the high performance version. I believe they had a legal issue with the supercar Vector company and had to change it.

How was the maintenance 🤔
@gregorycasey33476 ай бұрын
@@NightsN2dr3ams well I was 16 so I beat the heck out of that car. I would go through brakes and rotors every six months. Tires every year. I did the oil every three thousand miles. Transmission drained ever 30,000 miles. Other than that it did great. Replaced the belts at 60,000. Wash and waxed it every weekend. It was spotless and garage kept.

The s15 is my favourite car. The drifting and JDM history these chassis carry is worth the price. The fact that there is one out there that is unmodified is shocking to me, when typically either the spoiler, steering wheel, or hood would be changed almost as soon as it leaves the lot. the s15 is really a stunning car in a simplistic sense.

Toyota also does the front model badges in Japan. And the bodykit stuff isn't Spec R specific. You can get a Spec S Aero that will have all of that stuff, and inversely a Spec R non-aero.
