They come in to the shop I work at for maintenance all the time, they’re super easy to work on because I suspect Ford donated the 2.0l EcoBoost as its power plant. The interior is super luxurious but also functional. You definitely know you’re in a Range Rover and not a Ford Escape, with whom it’s priced very competitively for the same reliability. I've actually bought one, first p250 se and I didn't like it, so I ended up with r-dynamic p300 which is much much better, better seats, different leather, higher quality trims, upgraded audio (basic is terrible), hybrid helps a lot with smoothness of the engine, and that actually feels like a high quality vehicle, se or s are simply not cutting it. Overall it's a great car with amazing looks and interior that can't be touched by competitors in this segment.

USA: Mandated back-up camera. Europe: Mandated Safety Triangle. Which is not mandated in the USA. Makes sense.🤦♂️
@rootsmanuva825 жыл бұрын
USA can thank Europe for the ever increasing hood heights for 'pedestrian safety' which is ruining car designs. By increasing the height of the hood you have to raise the firewall, base of the A-pillars, B-pillars, cowl and roof height to maintain styling continuity across the car. It also raises the cars center of gravity somewhat. Europe has many high population density areas with pedestrians, a problem not typically found in North America. Take a look at a modern BMW sedan or coupe and tell me it doesn't look retarded (especially the new 8-Series). The hood is huge and unnecessarily high. It's like the 5 mph bumpers required in USA in the 70's and 80's. 'Euro' bumpers were sleek. Funny how the script has flipped. Here's the BMW 8-Series waist high hood:www.netcarshow.com/bmw/2019-8-series_convertible/1600x1200/wallpaper_06.htm
@AmongUs-mb4qx5 жыл бұрын
Ian Clancy So this is the reason for shitty high hood base but I don't think the blunt nose interferes with aerodynamics yet keep pedestrian safe which is good. Does high hood really affect the roof height? Any example?

A friend of mine has a 2019 Velar and it was in the shop not even a month after having it for computer system issues. Land Rover makes beautiful cars and has great ideas in their features and designs, but they need to work harder to make the features more functional and have them not break so easily.

We routinely take ours out on the beach down at Hatteras or further south at Ocracoke. It's done well off-road in the George Washington National Forest, too. It's a compact SUV that handles city driving without massively compromising the ability to get to less accessible places. It's not for everyone, but it's not fair to pretend it's destined to be a pavement princess. Ours has gone everywhere we would have wanted a Grand Cherokee to go.
