Paul Buitink talks to former U.S. army colonel Douglas Macgregor about the war in Ukraine and how Washington should intervene to come to a negotiated settlement before Ukraine is completely destroyed.
Macgregor doesn't think Russia has an interest in conquering more of Europe. Europe should become militarily and economically independent of the US and become their own first responders.
Macgregor explains the Russian military strategy, how far to the West they would go and what the path to peace looks like.
He also explains Trump's views and to what extent Trump would be able to change things.
Furthermore Macgregor gives his views on China and Taiwan.
He ends the conversation with advice for European voters for the European elections in June.

@@robertscott961 you violated Budapest memorandum by overthrowing legally elected president Yanukovitch. Some would argue both "revolutions", 2004, 2014, were funded and done with USA involvement. It's a violation of political independence written in Budapest memorandum. President Yanukovitch wrote a letter to Putin and asked to protect Russian speaking population. But, hey, when USA followed rules, right? just breaking them every time it fits interests of USA and causing wars all over the world.

Yes, I agree that American elites have become less and less interested in also giving their "allies" a fair piece of the cake, or real control over what NATO should be about. People like Stoltenberg (ex-PM of Norway) are just tokens and mouthpieces), the real control of the bloc, to all intents and purposes, is American, and they don't care what happens to Europe (or Japan etc). Washington is also less and less willing to accept the presence of non-aligned/neutral states, even when these are generally friendly to the US - the mindset has become "you're either with us outright or you're against us, and then you get to pay the price".

@@TheArdildo That doesn't sound sustainable, i am sure those missiles were launched towards strategic targets, why don't you talk about those instead of pretending they don't exist? Are you insinuating the Russians sent missiles towards a ten year old girl and three more people? It's clear the propaganda you are trying to sell, but nobody with half a brain will buy it, it's too nonsensical. America has systematically subjugated, plundered and started wars with HUNDREDS of sovereign nations over the decades and continue to do so to THIS DAY! 750 military bases abroad, tens of thousands of miles away from American soil, and that's to "PROTECT THE WORLD!" is it? Don't be ridiculous. America is the biggest terrorist nation on Earth. They make the British Empire and Roman Empire pale in comparison in terms of their rap sheets. "UP TO AMERICA TO SAVE EVERYONE" what a joke. A million dead Vietnamese, including hundreds of thousands of women and children, burned to death with napalm and flame throwers. Cambodian children being blown to pieces to this day by stepping on the tens of millions of clusterebombs still burried throughout their country. A million dead Iraqi's for a FAKE WAR started for oil plundering in the middle east based on LIES from your congress and voted against by the people of America. Same in Afghanistan and Libya. NOW in Syria pumping and stealing 44,000 barrels of oil a DAY from their country. Supporing genocide in Israel right now. Instigating and funding proxy wars in Ukraine resulting in (so far) 500,000 dead Ukranians, 1,000,000 injured and 60,000 MISSING UKRANIAN CHILDREN dissappered god knows where, cos of THE USA! What if we gave or sold Ukraine nuclear weapons? if that happened then both sides would have nuclear weapons ad both sides would have to stand down or have a nuclear war, and if Russia has a nuclear war with Ukraine, it will lose a few cities full of millions of Russian citizens and it will prevail with the preponderance of nuclear strikes on Ukraine and claim the radioactive wasteland that they fought so hard over and lost so many Russian lives over. The land will be poisoned with radioactivity, most of its inhabitants will be dead, and Russia will have claimed its prize at great cost, so would it have been worth it? Before you say that our guys are no different, consider the simple fact that you CAN say that about them in the west, and not get beaten, sent to the gulag, forced from prison to go be frontline storm fodder meat in Ukraine, murdered, or have your family murdered. If you still think differently, then remember that we are FREE in the west. Russia is not a "free" country by truly the human standards that YOU enjoy here. Maybe they will CONSCRIPT you or your kids to go fight in invading your NEIGHBOR country. Last i checked we haven't down that since the early 70s to wait- go fight Russian and Chinese backed communists trying to enforce mafia based oligarchy on their citizens. You are right, but who is really in power in the US or in European countries? Those who are in visible positions, aren't they all puppets, probably kept with things that aren't very clear, weren't they chosen precisely for that? I still have the impression that the psychopathic hand behind the screen, the puppeteers, no one talks about them. These puppeteers who uses and abuses all our countries for his interests and who always wins on all counts regardless of the countries or populations sacrificed, this with the help of the puppets whom they always find to allow themselves to be corrupted and perverted in all ways. ..who is or are they? Who is or are these great architect whose hands has been systematically found in all disasters for at least 500 years? We should perhaps find out what is the ultimate taboo, what is it that we are consciously, unconsciously and verbally strictly forbidden to even mention without suffering the wrath of hell from precisely the lackeys of these psychopaths. Because as long as we don't flush out these psychopaths, we will continue to suffer its consequences.

Crimea should have been sorted out by diplomatic means, and to put it candidly, I think both the local people there and Moscow are perfectly right in regarding the peninsula as Russian. The people of Crimea did what the people of Texas did in 1835-37, under much the same circumstances (Mexico was in political turmoil too at the time) but for some mystery reason they are not allowed to claim that kind of moral right by the puffed-up western elites. The EU/N:UTO are just Panglossian and cherry-picking to the hilt over this, and the background reason is that they don't want to say anything against the US. If Crimea had been resolved and accepted as part of Russia by the West, we would not have had the present war in Ukraine Kiev has just been acting like "we can do whatever we wanna do 'cause the US has our backs" for the last ten years, like the bratty kid on the block. And yes, I am writing this as a northern European.

The last thing Trump wants is a NATO where Europe (or major states of mainland Europe) would be able to openly speak to the US like they are equals within the bloc, where Europe would be able to flatly deny service to Uncle Sam. You have to realize that Trump is just as invested in the idea of NATO as a tool to promote US hegemony as Blinken or Bolton - it's just that his idea of the methods to be used is sometimes a bit different. Trump is a bit more open in saying that NATO needs to serve the purposes of the US and the others should just shut up, but he has the same mindset that America was entrusted with its global superpower status by the Lord God or the like,

They only partially mobilized their forces, they did not target infrastructure at large, and they didn't deploy some of their most modern equipment. All that took time to unfold. They weren't looking to steamroll, that would make the argument of their threat to western Europe much more palatable and believable. Look at a map of the conflict, outside of a city here or there the lines have not moved. Look at satellite imagery for early 2023, you can clearly see the investment they made in fortifications and static positions. Colonel Macgregor seems to be dead on right, ahead of the game time and time again. They should have made him a General.
