From the line of Dan play, he could only have one combo QT heart, he will never call QTo at turn out position, try to hit gut shoot on the river. The next hand Dan can have is KK and AK, plus some missing draw bluff on river. so set 99 is call on river.

@zche0835 жыл бұрын
@@Joel-js2gk I have another thought, Dan 3 bet the pot, if he TQ, T8 must suited, 3 bet Un-suited TQ, T8 is too lose. if Dan pick up a open-end at turn, he likely too continue barrel two street. The player as good as Dan DO NOT often check-call a straight draw at turn and out position, it's a lose play, he may check-rise bluff at turn if he pick a open end or bluff two street. This also can reduce the chance of Dan to have TQs, T8s. Then Dan value bet hands is AK or KK, bluff hands like missing flash draw, so 99 can be a call at river, but fold is not bad play either.

I think this: 1) Aaron had around 30% pot odds to call, with a small SPR 2) suppose Dan was in a nutted range like KK+, JJ, QTs 3) we have to consider also stuff like AKo, AKs in Dan's range! 4) and just with a final range of (KK+, JJ, QTs, AK) 99's set is good around 41%, so still +EV to call! if we add in more weak hands like AJ or AQ, it is even better for Aaron! Anyway, was a weird hand cause Dan's play on the river was pretty much reckless and yes he had some blockers, but I feel him here to be too much confident. Also, cause the SPR was small and Aaron was pretty much committed so it's hard to get good fold equity. I think Aaron was too much nitty here. Nice hand though!

Hey Doug: The kid who folded 99 was playing scared money. Not everyone is ready to play at these levels simply because they don't have the money to do it.The majority of Americans don't have 50k readily available. Poker at the high stakes level changes much of the dynamic of the game itself. For 50k you aren't folding the 99 because you are a millionaire. Where AQ shoved all-in the other guy was shitting in his pants! 50k is a a nightclub with friends, bottles and sluts for you. Honestly, poker is a real waste of money that could be used for significantly better ventures rather than sitting at a card table with men all day hoping that your set won't get busted by some loose cannon or Uber-rich dude who sucked out to a straight. Poker is you win some and you lose most. I would have to have millions of dollars to comfortable go and plunk $50,000 onto the table and not care if you lose it. If you only have $500,000 10% of your network is depleted on the basis of losing one single hand assuming the buy in is $50,000 minimum. It is a terrible fucking investment for anybody, never mind the kid who was quivering in his fruit of the looms over potentially losing his stack.

yeah Francisco folded a set last week to Big John and then last night he stacks off with Ace high on the river to Luda Chris.

That needle at Alex in the beginning is fantastic I love it. He is such a scum bag, he is trying to sell a course on FB, I commented if there was a angle shooting part of the course and he deleted my comment and made it so I can’t comment on his posts and advertisements. It’s not like I’m making stuff up or spreading lies about him, the guy can’t accept the truth.

Thank you Doug, you made me some cash. Two nights ago, I have a set of 5's on a board 5 10 J 8 x. Heads up I bet $25, got raised to $80, I reraised to $200, then he reraised me all-in to $525. I had him covered. I put him on the straight with Q9 or 97. I called because of this video. Doug Polk said don't fold sets. So I didn't. He had the straight with 9 7. The river paired the board with a Jack to make my hand float with the boat.

Yeah, I personally always loved seeing poker players tank (as long as they have tough decisions), even if they take 8 minutes. I think it's fun to see them think really hard for a lot of money. But I agree that it's not quite as appealing when you know the outcome because of the title.
@iantibbetts68716 жыл бұрын
Also use the time to study the player may identify tells etc plus gives the opportunity to practice spotting them. It's not always about the cards.
@danielnewby22556 жыл бұрын
I genuinely thought the video got funnier the longer he tanked. It was ridiculous this wasn't a snap call, it got more ridiculous watching him contort his face into scaring himself off.

This message is for Doug, who posted the video. I appreciate your insight and advice, for sure. I would also appreciate you using terms that someone new to the game, like me, understands. I spent many times searching terms you used in the video, but it got to the point where that became just too much so I proceeded watching without understanding it all. If this is for viewers who are supposed to know the terms you've used, then ok, but if you are welcoming to new players, I know I would've learned much more had I understood what you were saying. I also understand one can learn from exposure, but I would suggest maybe finessing your speech just a bit on your part, you know, for us newbies. Or not. Thanks bro.
@Dreamline785 жыл бұрын
"If this is for viewers who are supposed to know the terms you've used, then ok," It is. In all seriousness though, this isn't some super-advanced theoretical video, and the terms he uses are pretty basic. Outside of "merged range", I don't recall hearing a single term that a typical player (including fairly new ones) either doesn't know or can't figure out the meaning through context. What are some things you didn't understand?
@adambaxter10955 жыл бұрын
Thanks. As I watch more, I see what you mean - this isn't catered to new comers. As I just finished my second day at the casino tables, I've learned a bunch of the terms I didn't understand just a few days ago (with still much to learn). Disregard my earlier sentiment and I will learn through context.

And I couldn't list all the terms I didn't understand :)

Its a bad bluff the guy with AQ knows hes behind he cant beat anything but a rag ace. The other guy folding dosnt make sense to me you cant put him on a straight and if he had pocket kings then why would you be betting with the ace on the table. I would of put my opponent on ak 2 pair its an easy call.
@cartadviser74016 жыл бұрын
you read my mind..I was like how can Goug say he has pocket kings here..
@dannyrivers9205 жыл бұрын
well it actually makes sense that he could have had KK. 3bet pre, small cbet on the Ace flop to see where he was and maaaaybe he would have folded on the flop to a x3 raise. Since he got called, he just slowed down on the turn and went check-call. Maybe he sensed the weak Ace, like A5-A10 suited from the button call preflop and was planning to donk him on the river. I'm not saying I would put him on that, but he actually could have had that hand.

there's like 3 2 pairs that sam wise can have and fold that Frodo can go after. its not likely he's targeting 999 or whatever here. with that said the 999 fold was stupid I think you have to call because of distribution. what else are you going to call with

"Hides a couple cards....". I love it. I have seen 4 videos covering Torellis' lack of personal character, the first of which was on his own channel. I unsubbed him on the basis of the analysis he tried on his own hand, and thoughts on his own channel. I stated then that the only pure, integrity response was to return the extra. The Age 'spiritual' gobbledygook gave way to Corporate CS type response to me, 'thanking' me for my 'concern'. I can't stand that FAKE ASS THIEF.

You won't make any $ by flopping a set ,if you goes all in on the flop. Your opponent only committed $2700 and both of you are very deep in stacks. But from your logic you don't have to deal with stress with playing poker on the river. It's the high stakes game, people who can't afford it then they shouldn't be in the game in the first place. just my opinions.
