@@dougzwife it wasn't easy. We had put up flyers and put them on poles, trees and in mail boxes. Some girl had remembered seeing the flyer. About a good week later she saw a cat drinking out of a pool In her neighbors yard that resembled the pic she saw on the flyer. They called my home and took a cell phone pic. He was about a half mile away. I think he had gotten lost and didn't know how to get back. He was tired and dirty had had lost weight. My son had to slide under a car to coax him out because he was very scared. He's doing much better now after a week of antibiotics. I feel like the house is a home again. I know he's just a cat, but he's a member of our family, so it hurt deeply when he got lost.

@@dougzwife I didnt think I'd ever see him again, honestly, so I feel very fortunate. How are the kids feeling? Better I hope. So far though, it hasn't been a bad winter here in New York, just very rainy days like today. I've been fairly busy so I haven't even been baking much, which is something I really love to do. I will be trying g to tackle some early spring cleaning soon. I really need to do some serious emptying of drawers, cabinets and pantry. I am desperately wanting to get organized. I think I'm going to go to the dollar store for some baskets and other fun stuff to help.im a thrift store junkie at heart, well a totally anything having to do with shopping, lol

Yes, we are feeling better, thank you. :) We have had a mild winter too. It rains, it snows, it repeats. Right now we have had the snow stay for a while, nice not to have the mud.~~ I am hoping to do the same! So many of my cupboards and closets are too full and messy! I need to find the time to go through things and organize! It's going to take me forever it seems. I LOVE to thrift as well, I just don't find the time nowadays. It's so hard to take 7 kids thrifting! lol

Unfortunately, places like that are usually geared towards tourists and overpriced. You got some good deals! All those Prime truck... crazy! Hello Janet! :) Thanks for watching! You'll have to visit Amish country sometime....such a wholesome place to shop, with some good prices. (I looked it up and it says there are Amish in 31 different states... but I think the stores are mostly in Indiana and Ohio.)

How fun! I would absolutely love this! We have a couple of Amish stores near us but the communities are actually old order Mennonite here. That store is huge! So much cute stuff! I always love picking up bulk spices.

I’ve never been to an Amish store! My husband and I were out Saturday and passed a few Amish buggies on the road, but I’m not sure if there was a store nearby. I should find out 😊 Thanks for sharing!

You should look for sure! I know there are some in Michigan here too...but Shipshewana is definitely more inviting and with lots more stores.

I haven't ever been to an amish store but I know they are around prob. A few hours away...I live in Ohio and I know that's a big thing around certain towns...maybe i will have to make a day of it and go to my nearest one...thank you for sharing 💜

Probably Holmes county; there are a lot of Amish there and it's similar to Shipshewana

We've been to Shipshewana several times and love the area. Can you tell me the name of the grocery store with the coloring books? Haven't seen that one as it looks like it is out of the main district. You have a sweet family :) Thanks for sharing!

The grocery store that has the best deal on coloring books is Forks Grocery Store. There is one in Shipshe, but we go to the one in Middlebury (because we like the park across the street.) It's only a 5 minute drive from Shipshewana probably. You can also get coloring books at Country Road and E&S used to but I haven't seen them there recently. Yoder's Department Store too, but everything is more pricy there. I love Yoder's but we started going there last because sometimes I see the same thing at other stores for $5+ less.
