This game is one of the only two games that features accurate gearbox, meaning that if the car doesn't have a manual option IRL, then you're stuck with slushbox CVT with no options to shift manually. Learned it the hard way because I wanted to MOGG everyone with RB Odyssey. Also, the fact that most performance parts featured are licensed and tailored specifically to each car is cool. A bit misopportunity that it lacks the big-brain performance mix & match from Kaido Battle 3 / TXRD2.

Always happy to see more Genki related content, especially obscure games like this. Even if the atmosphere is different, in regards to it being legal racing now, it still works I feel. Though I will say the game does seem a bit tedious when it comes to completion/progression, much like other Genki games. So much things you need to do to progress in some cases. After completing TXR Zero I'm still suffering PTSD from that lol. Great video as always Dove, props to you and Sharicite for pushing out another awesome video!

I know it sounds like a very big ask but imagine if Genki successfully combined elements from the mainline Tokyo Xtreme Racer and TXR Drift games with elements from Racing Battle C1 Grand Prix to create the ultimate Genki racing game. It would be their magnum opus. I have high hopes that TXR 2025 will be a great game but I can't help but wonder what they could achieve by taking the lessons learnt from previous games to create the ultimate Japanese racing game.

When the Gran Turismo & NFS ProStreet (Grassroot motorsport) meets the Genki's Shutokou Battle & Kaido Battle element. There's also another Genki racing game that also focused on the closed circuit racing before this game called "Kattobi Tune" for PS1.

14:21 the reason why i love C1GP even with terrible vehicle physics and repeatiive gameplay is the music it has very fresh and addictive feeling that ANY other game doesn't have my personal favorite is Sand Fabrics and Little kiss (+ and can't forget still in my head these two BGM explains how's the C1GP's ost like

I used to play this a lot on my PS2. I was never able to finish it, but I did enjoy how the gameplay felt. A lot of the features it has were stuff I wished they carried over to later TXR titles. Even the sillier options. The soundtrack of this game is soo good. So much Trance compared to the other titles.

What a weird game, they tried to mix their usual Wangan C1 racing up a bit but it seems a bit watered down and cant decide whats its trying to be. They succeded better with the TXR Drift titles but then these title are only Touge and no highway racing. Even in their newest TXR title in development they dont think about finally combining highway and touge racing into one game... :(

So this is how a combination between GT and TXR would look like. Man, Genki is full of crazy ideas lmao. It looks interesting, but frankly that's the issue, the footage does not actually make me feel excited for this game honestly, it looks... barren and almost undercooked at times. GT4 and the mainline TXR games, notably TXR 3, remain the most suitable for me when it comes to legal and highway racing, I guess. But that being said, yes, I'm absolutely excited for the upcoming TXR reboot. You know all those people drooling over GTA 6 coming out next year, but me? Nah man, I want a new TXR game instead, since we absolutely need some excitement in the racing genre again, especially since after TXR seemingly went into hibernation, highway racers practically stopped existing as well. Besides, its looks remind me an awful lot of staka117's Wangan Midnight Unity project if you remember it, which sadly ceased development after the man got overwhelmed by the unexpected attention the project received... Until then, however, just a few days ago NFSCO had its first public release, and the team is already teasing more BIG plans for the future. Now that's definitely gonna be the REAL big deal for us racers for the time being, until we get a new, noteworthy racing game. In fact, I'm looking forward to a video or a couple of streams of NFSCO!
