I think what makes this cover different than the multitude of others, is his voice does sound haunting at times which is beautiful.

The delicate arrangement of the piano really lifts this song in a way I never thought possible. Your voice of angst up against the beautiful wall of piano teardrops create a great contrast of sound and vision. There is a contained beauty in the way you have remastered this song. Again Rob, you provide an emotional release most are either unable to express or adequately project, but you do it with such ease. You release a great cover with such emotion... props to you for having the bravado and unbridled energy to do so. This world is a better place next to the soul soundtracks you release. I'll tell you, it has been a good while now since I discovered this masterpiece. It has touched me in a way I didn't think was possible. I suffered a great loss many years ago, the lyrics in this song are written for loss and grieving. I have been "Down" in the hole many times since he died, and honestly this rendition affected me so deeply, it put me back down there for a good while - but that is what great art should do, it should affect us emotionally. Coming out of the hole, it was realizing the great beauty that is possible in this life and accepting it is ok to continue.

Dude, just have to say that your talent is off the charts. Very few people in the world are born with a voice like that. Gives me goosebumps to hear you sing Layne's songs. I've never heard anyone be able to capture the "soul" with which he sang. It's the vibrato and grit in your voice. Quite simply, amazing.
