I’m 67 and found BTS at the beginning of the pandemic. My 73 year old husband and I went to their concert in LA last December. We both adore them. They are such good, humble young men and have created such love among their fans. I’m always glad to see someone else discover BTS. They will make your life richer, as they have millions of us all over the world. Their music is outstanding but it’s their love for each other and ARMY that really pulls us in.

Subscribed right away after watching your genuine reaction to this. Love it a lot. I’m a 57 year-old father of 2 grown up sons who introduced me to BTS more than a year ago and fell in to the rabbit hole since. Love everything about them! I’m excited to see your journey of knowing them and appreciating them not only as a group of talented young men but as an individual person. For me, BTS is the best underdog story I have ever witnessed in my life. Borahae!

I spent several months just listening to their music (they had a big enough discography and it was varied, so I didn't get bored having them as background while working). I understand what you're saying, but music and lyrics are very much at the heart of things for a lot of ARMY. I really value the member's personalities and their story, but the moments which truly made me a 'fan' were spent sitting in the dark with my headphones on listening to their albums and reading the lyrics. Having said that I'm not sure it's really possible to separate 'who they are' from their music... it's all part of the same whole. So perhaps we're just talking about the same thing in different ways!

What I love with BTS is that they aren't putting on some fake image and trying to be cool. They show us when they cry, are tired, insecurities and show us their wonderful sense of humor being silly and showing ugly faces just being natural and normal. If you start watching their variety show Run BTS you will see what lovely and sweet personalities they have. They are really great guys.

That openness and humanity is what draws so many people to them.💜 For me, I discovered their music just over a year ago, with ON The Kinetic Manifesto Film. And I loved what I saw, and heard. But it was their personalities that really got me. I fell in love with who they are as human beings, and their music, dance, stage performances, and everything else.💜

The creator of this video (Taylor) started it to show about BTS to her friends and coworkers at an independent film studio. She wanted to include all her favorite info and clips but wanted to do it as good as possible so she published first a draft and asked for ARMY to give her feedback, and the final result is what you see here So much happened on the few months since this was published! A whole antology album with three new songs and lots of never heard before demos and unreleased versions, a few collabs both by members as solo and in units (just part of the band), a solo album by j-hope, and a lot more of content!

You seemed really impressed by the fact that they have spoken at the UN 3 times. My suggestion would be to watch the 2018 speech at the UN. Namjoon talks about self love and learning to love and accept yourself. I was going through a really hard time in my life when when I started listening to BTS (or as ARMY say, BTS found me when I needed them most). THAT speech above anything is what made me ARMY! 💜 I literally watched it 3 times that first night because I couldn’t stop crying. The follow up one in 2020 also hit me hard too. Thank you for your honest and thoughtful reaction.

On Saturday(15TH)BTS is giving a FREE online concert for the whole world. Many thousands will see it in person in Busan South Korea. I'll have to get up at 4am since I live in the middle of the US. It is to promote Busan,as the city bids for the WorldExpo2030 location.

It is a free concert in Busan (a lot of Army have flown in already) and they said estimated audience is 100k. It will also be livestreamed in the app called Weverse for free for those who was not able to get the free tickets or just in other countries or timezone. The whole city of Busan has turned purple and so many foreigners are there now for the concert. I can't even imagine the economic impact this will bring South Korea. They have BTS buses, additional flights made available, hotels fully booked... and everyone just having a great time touring Korea leading up to the 15th. Busan is the place to be right now. 💜

Yes, they have this sibling energy. They argue, fight, and have fun together. Their sincerity is what draws me to them. I'm a 43-year-old ARMY that works as a teacher, a volunteer, and a Social worker. I'm drawn to them not just because of their music but their actions as well. I can see how much they love humanity as a whole and for that their fandom echos their love.

All seven members dance, but the dance line will do special stages, and they are given the more dance heavy parts, and will be front and center most of the time. Their isn't a bad dancer in the group, they all work really hard to master their craft, in ever area. Thank you for the great reaction. I think I've seen this introduction video at least 20 times now (and I'm sure I will watch it at least 20 more times). I was having a rough day, and this reaction really made my day a little brighter. I love it when people get what they are about, and see them for who they are. That is why we (ARMY's) love these guys so much. They have inspired and helped millions of people globally, and i'm proud to say I'm ARMY. Their music is awesome. They have so many different kinds of music that there is something for everyone. I've listened to over 200 of their songs so far, and I haven't heard any that I don't like (their discography is over 300 songs). The only ones I didn't care for are some of the collaborations that either didn't add to or took away from their original song. Anyway, thank you. I look forward to experiencing more of your BTS journey with you.💜

About their synergy (sorry for the long comment): Bang PD (former CEO at Bighit but now just Chairman) in an interview noted that they'd never expected BTS to have the synergy that they do, stating: "Whenever I look at BTS, I feel proud but also desperate at the same time. When we teamed these 7 members up before debut, we didn’t know that they’d have this kind of synergy. We don’t know how we did it, so we don’t know if we can team up another team well in the future again. I’m just laying down my assumption since I’m not confident in my answer." He went on to say that the key to BTS' resolving arguments has been teaching them that it's okay to argue. He said: "Our company’s culture is “there’s no individual without the team”. This is no totalitarianism though. We promised to have all communication as a team. We have self-learning classes about how to lead a team, from about one year before debut. Lastly, we encourage them not to be afraid of fighting. “Don’t be afraid of fighting. Fight if you’re angry. Even fist fights are fine. It’s okay to fight.” We teach them that fearing fights only makes conflicts grow bigger. But they need to resolve the conflicts all 7 together. Even if only 2 fight, all 7 must resolve it together. What moves me is how even when they fight about impossibly embarrassing things, all 7 members run to me and tell me what they fought about. I think they must have been so embarrassed telling the other 5 about the incident too. But even when they fight about something so embarrassing to talk about, they run to me and tell me what they fought about and how they resolved it. I think these kinds of things strengthen this team’s chemistry and synergy." As RM would say, teamwork makes the dream work! You can watch the clip in Korean below. My Opinion: I think because BTS are willing to work their differences and discuss them it has allowed them to come loser and help understand one another. Yoongi (Suga) said that they didn’t not get along very well (as well as they do now) at the beginning of their careers but as they grew to get to know one another they now don’t really fight anymore. I personally think this allowed the members to be okay to not agree with everything. They are all different, all have different opinions, and/or point of views. However you can’t overlook that all the members are just amazing human beings in general.

We have a saying in the fandom that you'd find BTS when you need them the most. And if you ask any ARMY when or how they found BTS, there would always be a heart wtenching story behind it. I found them during a dark time in my life and their songs and videos helped me a lot. I was sleeping myself to death and taking sleeping pills every day hoping not to wake up anymore. I was living alone, away from my parents/family so nobody really knew what I was going through. One night, I was suprised to have suddenly woken up, probably due to the effect of the sleeping pills I've taken earlier that day. I was about to take a couple more when I somehow opened KZbin whilst checking the time on my phone and their MMA 2016 Fire performance started playing. That stopped me and I started watching. I forgot about everything and watched their videos that night. The following morning was spent learning their names and watching more stuff. It was a complete 360 turn. I watched so many videos, MVs, Dance practices, Variety show contents etc. Their songs helped me loved myself and accept myself. "I'm the one I should love in this world" from Jin's song was like a fervent prayer for me, uttered whenever I'm starting to get depressed. Their discography is huge, massive! Their albums are no skip and I love their B-side tracks the most. They are one of the most humble, down-to-earth people you'd ever meet. Even up to this day that they are the world's biggest band. Thank you for giving them a chance and for getting to know them a bit. They've touched our lives in different ways and I hope they can also help you in whatever you have going on in your life.. even just a little. I am and will forever be grateful that they and their music exists. #BTSARMY

The one where you see them handling flyers was in the US where they were filming American Hustle Life. It was a reality tv show. They were in the US to train. Back then Kpop was not yet known to many. If you've never heard of them before even if they were in the business for almost a decade it's because K-media rarely mentions/publicize or cover BTS in their news because they were from a small group which almost close to bankruptcy, compared to other companies who has all the means and influence. It was only whrn BTS was making names and news internationally that they started to cover BTS ff now covering them in their bews left and right almost everyday. They started their own variety show (which others groups are now doing) like Run BTS, Bon Voyage and In the Soop. Their very first variety show was Rookie King.if you want to see the funny and chaotic side of BTS watch Run BTS...you will definitely have a good laugh, it's available at Weverse & Vlive app. Bon Voyage showcased their international travels abd In The Soop you can see a more laid back BTS.

One of the things I think that also makes them so solid, which RM brings up is how important each are. They help each other grow, to find their own voices & position, both within & outside the group. Its like there is no jealousy or even reason for it, which has not been uncommon as we know among groups, because they make sure, each of them is heard & has a chance to develop even within the group. He makes it clear that Jungkook NEEDS to be in the front position, not just for Jungkook but for the group as a whole. Whereas many would probably want that position for themselves. Its admirable :)

“They make you want to be a better person. They saved me.” I’d have found this to be corny and would have scoffed at people saying this. Like, really??? A boy band??? But then, I found them when I needed them most. I didn’t even know what I was watching when KZbin suddenly played them next after watching a news clip. I was mesmerized. Then I wanted to know who they were and what their names are. Which is usually the push that makes us fall into the rabbit hole. 😅. Now I know for a fact, those two first sentences are very true. I found BTS in 2016 when my then 9 year old came home from school and said she heard a band called kpop and liked it. LOL. I told her I was pretty sure it was a genre of music, not a band. She insisted it was a band so I looked it up on youtube to show her and the first video I watched was "Everybody" by Shinee. I went down a giant kpop rabbit hole with a bunch of different groups including BTS, B.A.P., VIXX, Infinite and others. When those groups disbanded, I got into other groups. BTS is still around though. I hope they will be around in some way for a long time. They completely changed my outlook on life. I used to listen to only Heavy Metal. Alot of songs don't have the most positive of lyrics, as you know. I never stopped listening to metal, but having BTS and other positive kpop groups in my life really helped my state of mind. I also have so many ARMY friends now and I never cared if I had friends before. I'm 53 and have a chronic illness. I used to sit around and do nothing...just tried to minimize my pain. Now I've learned to manage my pain so I can go to concerts and go to meet ups with my ARMY friends. BTS literally gave me my life back.

RM is smack in the middle of all 7 members age-wise) *Maknae Line:* Jimin, V & Jungkook (Maknae means the youngest member of a group, so this line consist of the younger members with Jungkook being the youngest aka maknae.) *95-Line:* Jimin & V (since they're both born in 1995) There's more...these are some of the main "Lines" of BTS. 😁💜

you're an insightful thoughtful person, what a great reaction. Yes, BTS (especially the 3 rappers) contribute a lot to the writing, composing and producing of their songs, which not a lot of kpop groups do. So they definitely deserve the artistic respect. You're right, the word "art" describes BTS very well. RM as a rapper has said before that all rappers should write their own lyrics and write about themselves, since authenticity is an important part of rap. BTS's rappers are authentic since they come from actual hiphop backgrounds and the underground scene. They studied hiphop very extensively so they have a lot of knowledge about it and a genuine love for the craft of hiphop. And they make real hiphop music, not pop rap. Most "rappers" in other kpop groups just learn how to perform their verses written by other people without any real technical rap skills, and use hiphop just as an aesthetic without any real understanding or love for it. I think you would also really love the docu-series Rise of Bangtan, it documents BTS's journey in chronological order starting from their training years. The series also gives a lot of info about the kpop industry in general and their trainee system. It gives great context to show you how BTS navigated the industry differently than other groups, cause they came from a small non-mainstream company that did not have the money, power or influence in the industry or the media. The series includes a lot of their vlogs so you can hear their personal thoughts, behind the scenes, interviews, etc. and shows how they dealt with various adversities and challenges. The series is fan-made, but it is so professionally edited that it looks like it could be a show on Netflix. Each chapter of Rise of Bangtan has a deleted scenes vid. And starting from chapter 3 onwards, every chapter has an additional bonus content vid. Those show you a lot of entertaining/funny clips, with context. You can watch those right after you finish a chapter.

All 7 of them dance quite well as compared to us plebs, lol, but the ones in the "dance line" are considered the best in the group and will typically spend more time in the front in the choreography, or be given the more complex moves, etc.

I love that you went into this with an open mind and heart, willing to learn more even though you didn't know what to expect. BTS has great music and that's what first caught my attention about them. What made me truly become an Army was getting to know them as people and falling in love with their kind words and kinder personalities. They are so entertaining on stage and off stage. I feel like they make you want to befriend people just like that, but they also inspire you to want to be as giving and selfless as they are. They truly make you want to be better and better toward others and ourselves.

BTS are seven incredibly amazing young men. They make you want to be a better person and be a positive influence on those around you. I admire them and all that they have achieved especially when you know where they started and that even today they are still seven humble, loving, honest and pure souls that deserve so much and ask so little. They give us so much of their talent, their time and their love and always say they will work harder. I don't know of any other artist that puts in the time and effort that BTS do/have. They continuously amaze me. Thank you for this reaction, it's always a joy to watch someone else discover the group and appreciate all that they do. 💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Thank you for sharing your BTS journey with us.... Not sure if you are aware of the difference between Korean Age and International Age... Koreans count age differently to us....So , actually the guys ages were from 15 years old to 20 years old when they debuted. (only 13 - 18 years old when they started with BTS) Korean Age vs International Age - difference is 1-2 years depending on if their birthday has been.... In this video they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust. Rule of thumb - if it's before their birthday - subtract 2 years to get international age. if it's after their birthday - subtract 1 year to get their international age. (Eg. Suga was 11, not 13, when he started creating music and using Midi against his parents approval.) When you are born you are considered 1 year old. Then on 01 Jan every year you add another year to your age, no matter what your birthdate is. .... EG: TaeHyung (V) born 30 Dec 1995 ...... current International Age 26 (Korean Age 28). ... 2 years difference So Tae born 30 Dec 95 is 1 year old, then on 01 Jan 96 he is 1 more year older (so they would say he is 2 years old, when we would say he is 2 days old.) So he was considered 28 in Korea since 01 January, we would say he is 26 turning 27 in Dec. EG: Hoseok (JHope) born 18 Feb 1994...... current International Age 28 (Korean Age 29)... .currently 1 years difference He turned 28 on 18 Feb - but will still be considered 29 in Korea (the difference is only 1 year - until Jan 1 - then back to 2 years difference) It's a different way of looking at age, from new years day - JHope is living his 29th year (since conception) - instead of - he turned 28 (since birth).... EG: Jeongguk (JK) born 01 Sept 1997...... current International Age 25 (Korean Age 26)... .1 years difference He was considered 26 in Korea since January, even though we would say he's just turned 25. So JK started with BigHit in 2011 at 13, but he would say 15 in korean age. At BTS debut on 13 Jun 13 JK was 15 in international age (17 in korean age) International Age at Debut on 13June13 (Year and international age became trainee) Jin - 20 yo (2011 - 18yo) Suga - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo) JHope - 19 yo (2011 - 17yo) RM - 18 yo (2010 - 15yo) Jimin - 17 yo (2012 - 16yo) V - 17 yo (2011 - 15yo) JK - 15 yo (2011 - 13yo) In most series they are giving Korean ages so you will need to adjust. Hope that makes sense!!💜💜

There is an intangible with BTS that is hard to define. I'm a 55 yr. young ARMY who had been ARMY since late 2016. They are artists. True artists. They are so inspiring. These 7 men are changing the world. Whether you like their music or not, they are more than music. The love and transparency is unlike anything I've ever experienced. They are genuinely good people leaving an imprint on everyone they touch. They have created a community of love that is unmatched. I am a proud ARMY.

Since you were intrigued by their musical genre variety I think you'd enjoy watching these videos: •BTS Room Live: Festa 2021 This video highlights a song from each other their albums, from their first to their last, and they preform parts of those songs live. It's a great video if you want to see what they bring to the table in terms of variety and talent (live vocals, rap skill, stage presence, etc) •BTS Tiny Desk Concert This video is a chill preformance of 3 songs (don't look at this list if you want to be surprised: Dynamite, Save Me, and Spring Day). This video was put out in 2020 and our boys hoped to give an uplifting and happy preformance for their fans around the world during the pandemic. Just to add some background, the last song they preform Spring Day is known as the "queen" of BTS songs. It speaks about love, loss, and yearning and the song brings the feeling of hope and motivation to the audience. I recommend both videos as a first time listener to BTS!! They have so many songs (probably around 400+ official and unofficial songs) and I can't wait for you to continue this BTS journey and get introduced to the members and their music. Thank you again so much, we purple you!! 💜💜

The growth of BTS is something really admirable. I've been an ARMY since 2014 and the pride I have for BTS is huge! As a fam I have experienced so much hate for all the injustices that BTS received and continue to receive today, but just watching a video of them takes away that painful feeling. I'm 69yo, and am not drawn to 99% of current popular music, but I love their songs and have expanded my tastes thanks to them, I especially love the rap and the really amazing lyrics and meanings. The clip of them asking people to come to their concert on the streets was in America while they where doing a realty tv show called American Hustle Life where they learned the “true ways of hip pop”. The main reason I've become their fan and been here for more than 7-8 years is their music, lyricism and their personalities. They're very much relatable. It's almost like I've grown up with them. When they were talking about societal expectations and to have a dream, i was in my senior high. By the time I've joined the college, they talked about the emotions and desires of the youth which I did relate to at that period. And about how important it is to love one's self when I was a graduate student. And now I've graduated and started working, they're talking about finding one's self. The more I think about it, the more confident i feel, because in this path of finding myself, i have Bangtan with me. They're gonna support me and be that bulletproof vest to protect my ideas and interests. In this journey of being an ARMY, i never felt alone. And in this process they made me accept all my flaws and imperfections. I've come to love myself and I'm much stronger than before. They've become my Spring day that never left me and keeps me going. Because, If there's one thing that BTS teaches you, it's HOW TO LOVE. That love isn't limited to a relationship between opposite genders, but how to love one's self, a person or thing or any creature on this planet. Pure love among a family, friends and a community. They made me realise that people are still kind amidst impatience, disgust, and jealousy in this volatile world. They bring hope that we can better the world. They've given me so much that i can't even repay them my whole life. All i can do is to stay here the same, support and protect them forever. And now that they've decided to enlist in their country's military which is a rule there and pause the band activities until 2025. Though i can't be physically there for them, there's one thing i can do for sure. When they return, giving them assurance that I've always been waiting for them and becoming a better version of myself, a person they'd be proud to call their ARMY, a person worthy of that label.

At the beginning when they were handing it flyers on the street it was actually in Los Angeles. They were there doing a tv show called American Hustle Life in 2014 where they learned about more about hip hop, they even got mentored by Coolio (RIP) and Warren G on the show. The online concerts were mainly during the pandemic when they couldn't perform for fans in person but sometimes their concerts are also livestreamed. Earlier this year when they performed in South Korea for the first time since the pandemic started they actually showed the concert in movie theaters, which I went to and it was great. I also want to mention that in South Korea ages are calculated differently so when they state their ages they were actually 1-2 years younger. So when Jungkook said he joined Bighit at 15 he was actually 13 at the time. The way it's calculated in South Korea is you are 1 when you are born and then every January 1st (New Years) everyone turns 1 year older not on their actual birthday. But I think it's changing soon so in South Korea they will use the international age system.

It's kinda too good to be true to have a group of 7 people and all of them are amazing. All of them are talented individuals but as great they are in their craft, they also have great personalities. I've never known any other group that loves each other so much. You'll see their deep bond as brothers in all their content. They're kind, humble, respectful, thoughful, sincere, charitable and funny as hell. As you get to know them more and more, you'll find yourself being inspired by them. I have become more positive, loving, understanding and charitable since i've joined the ARMY last year. Their lyrics have helped me thru dark times in my life. It's like BTS is this light at the end of the tunnel. They're very inspiring people and i respect and admire them so much. To this day, they always communicate with ARMY in their weverse platform, they reply to armys' posts and do lives and it's like talking to your best friends.
