Brian is a lot more energetic when he has someone to talk to directly, when he is talking about his tent set up. He is pretty energetic in his own videos covering this tent, but he was going 100 mph all through this one. You can tell he has that genuine passion for it, to give him the energy and motivation to do it to begin with, but he really seems to come out swinging when he has someone to do wit with. Like he chugged a whole bunch of espresso before Phil started filming. Or perhaps he was out by himself for long enough that he just digs finally having some company, and telling that company what he is doing. Which seems pretty common, even among intense introverts like me, if we've been off on our own for a few weeks.

I've been living in a six-man military crew tent with a stove for 5 years now. Haven't had a job for I've been blacklisted from my last job. Had an injury to my right hand being crushed and that's the reason for them letting me go just to come find out they did blacklist me. Did have two dogs till I was working for a rancher and had somebody watch them they ended up killing them last July. It's tough! Been in the mountains of Colorado my whole life living off the land. creditors are coming after me but there's nothing that I can do. This last cold spell we had a couple weeks ago and put a damper on my truck and it's just a matter of time before the engine blows. But as long as you have the skills the wanting to live in willing to learn you can do this. Only thing that I do different is that my campus set up two miles from any road and I parked my vehicle in different spots every time.

Spent the last 4 years watching van life video's, and I have come to the conclusion that I am much more suited for tent camping with a woodstove, much rather do that then be cooped up in a Van, staying in parking lot etc.
@OffGridBackcountryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, I definitely love camping with a wood stove. I prefer using woods like cedar/juniper for the fantastic aroma, I feel like that greatly adds to the experience.
@A.I-GAMING3 жыл бұрын
@@OffGridBackcountryAdventures Definately, I spent a lot of time with propane heaters, gas generators and diesel, the noise, cost, they break down, and being able to load up with a good supply of wood and just relax for a week or two and not worry about buying more fuel just makes life easier.
@OffGridBackcountryAdventures3 жыл бұрын
@@A.I-GAMING yeah, I agree wood makes heating so much easier. I also like the fact it's old school, kind of makes the experience feel like a throwback to pioneer days.
@xToddmcx3 жыл бұрын
He's clearly very happy with his setup and excited to show it off, so good for him. But man, I have to think by the time you break that all down, tow it (I assume), and set it back up, some sort of trailer would be a lot easier and probably more comfortable. Granted the tent doesn't have the 8 foot width constraint, which is hard to get around if you don't buy a commercial RV. But still.

It's not freezing in the tent with the wood stove. Even when it is below 0 out side you can have 70+ degs inside with the stove. I know it's hard to believe but having used a wood stove for years it's the truth.
