This is probably my favorite arrangement by Doyle. I first got to see and meet Doyle at a very small workshop put on by Midwest Music in Norwood, OH in the very early 90’s. I bought several cassette tapes from him at the time including this arrangement. He allowed me to hold and strum and play a few chords with his Kirk Sand nylon guitar. His recording played on that guitar is my favorite of all the others. It is full, warm, rich melodic. Doyle, I hope you and your family remain safe and well.

The best guitar player since Chet, there are a lot of good players but not anointed by the Holy Spirit. I found you on Utube by accident but now a fan.

Doyle, God bless you brother! Your playing has always touched my soul and been such a blessed inspiration to me as a guitarist. Ever since the first time I ever heard you play in my old pastor Bill Stuthridge's church in Newark CA. I remember buying one of your first teaching videos on VHS and practicing Joshua fit the battle at Jericho for hours on end. Thank you so much for your service to the Lord and your love for Christ which clearly rings forth through your love of music! It would be great to see you in person again someday in the future. If you are ever out in the San Francisco Bay area, you would be a most welcome guest and friend in both my home and church. May the Lord continuously bless you, your family, and your ministry. :)

So wonderful! Thanks for showing how. By the way, the sound on your videos recently is so much more vibrant and lush - very pleasant. A nice improvement over some of the earlier videos. Thanks for sharing all the joy of the hymn and your arrangement!

I just discovered this channel and although I heard You play before I never realized Your Love for God was so deep and I feel Your lovely Spirit ! You have inspired me to play more acoustic once again ! I sure wish I could meet you and play with You ! But I am enduring a pretty rough trial and I’ll Health But God Helps Me each day ! I think You may like my arrangement of “Tis So Sweet To Trust in Jesus” I’m listening to your chord Right after What a Friend we Have in Jesus (right there) right before you go into all our sins and griefs to bear WOW It is so so beautiful it all is but You just keep laying on the lovely full unusual harmony chords

It took me decades to realize that it wasn't just his technique that made him a great player, but it was the way he THOUGHT musically when Uncle Johnny played his fiddle or mandolin. You are in that same category. Everyone can see what a great player you are but some may not realize that it's the way you THINK musically that make your playing so over-the-top. One more thing... it's who you play for that makes you who you are. ;-) JKM, Fruitvale, Tx

Hello Mr. Doyle Dykes! Thank you for being an inspiration to me personally. I have never seen you in person, but On KZbin I believe I was introduced to your work when you were doing the 12 string guitar with Don Carr. Since then I’ve learned varoius Travis picking patterns and hope to develop my own style by the direction of Christ. Thank you for being willing to turn every interview or video that you do into a preaching moment! May God bless you and your family. P.s. Hopefully soon I will be able to get my own 12 string LOL. God bless you again From Jay
