You didn't need to use ground pounds after loosing the Giga Bell. You can throw the Fury Pillars (that's what I call the black spikes that fall from the sky)

Hey I did this myself already, I want to see how this compares this with my run Edit: I've finished the video, now I want to share my thoughts. For starters, I never even used 2-player mode at all for the entire run, and it seems it would have been a little easier that way. I also didn't realize you could get onto the front of the ship in the intro (I must have been going too slowly on the handrail) and took the long way around which resulted in 2 more jumps you were able to cut. On the other hand, I discovered the trick to get the propeller box really early on, which did make a lot of shines easier, especially because you can get propeller boxes out of Crisp Climb Castle and Pipe Path Tower, giving you a busted movement option to use pretty much anywhere. It's also the way I used to get to the first giga bell, as you can propeller from the end section of scamper shores right onto it. And one more thing regarding the fury bowser fights: you can dodge his ground pound attack by getting onto a slightly elevated platform to go above the shockwave, or baiting him to attack on the platform, then getting off it and crouching to dodge below the shockwave (my platform of choice was the first section of scamper shores which you can walk right up onto). Even though I had already done this challenge your strategies were very different from mine so it was a very fun watch, now I feel like seeing the maximum shines i can get with 2-player mode on my side

Also the first jump can be skipped with a wall jump dive and to get on the ship you need to go to go on the left rock then walk on the ship (it looks like you can’t but you can if you walk on the yellow ring) then mario stutters and then you can fall off and dive up

Actually, on the 1.0.0 version of the game, you can collect 100 coins on fur step island and receive power ups from them (on 1.1.0 you can only obtain mushrooms). This means you can probably beat the game with 0 jumps

There may be a way to knock off that first jump. The various bushes and trees in the beginning do offer coins when running through and climbing them. If you gather 100 coins and get lucky enough to get a Super Bell, you could climb across the side of the ship and avoid that first jump. It’s tedious, and it requires a bit of luck, but it’s possible to knock off jump #1 with this strategy. Nathaniel Bandy brought this to mind in his no coin run.

For the first part I think it is possible to get a cat suit by rolling into the trees and getting 100 coins. You can keep reloading the file to respawn the coins in the trees Edit: never mind, you only get mushrooms in this part of the game

so....through my playthrough i found out you can actually grab the pillars bowser shoots in giga cat mario and giant mario with Y. this means that...every jump during those fights is literally meaningless because the pillars do the same amount of damage as a groundpound no matter what. so you (if im correct) can remove another jump from that list

It takes 1 jump, you can avoid the 2 firsts jumps by climbing the trees and reloading the save filé, then when you get 100 coins there is a chance of getting a cat suit and when falling of the Edge you can climb, the 2 jump you can use an laggi bowser Spike tô jump with no jumping, you can use this tô get the shine.

Just to throw this out there. In gamechamp3000’s video, she was able to complete the game with only 1 jump (the first cat shine you need to jump up to, to collect). She said that it might be possible to beat the game without any jumps, we just need to wait for someone to eventually figure out how to get that one shine jumpless.

You can kind of control Junior by pressing R and pointing your controller in the direction you want him to go. He'll stop a bit of the way through, but it can be really helpful.

Great video! I did a challenge of beating Bowser's Fury with no X/Y presses. Beating the game is possible with 0 X presses, but the key shines and the last two cat parent shines are undoable without pressing X.

Fun fact!: there is a hint of plot at the end of the game after just completing the game (don't need 100% i think). During the credits, we see paintings presumably made by bowser junior. These paintings show when Bowser and his army comes to Lake Lapcat, and they are happy at first, with bowser being normal, but as the paintings progress it kinda shows how Bowser got angy/inky. NOt saying more because spoilers maybe and, do it yourself >:(. Plus, i have regrets... 400%, 16 hours, all regret. ;-;

You can fall onto Bowser Junior to use him as a mobile bounce-pad. This, in combination with the Propeller Blocks littered everywhere, makes it so almost all the shines (apart the first two) are possible jumpless.

If you don't count wall jumps (Like Odyssey doesn't) you save a lot in the tutorial, getting it to one jump to get the cat shine.
