Nice to see Jay get his Demon 170 that he ordered in March. I ordered a Challenger Hellcat Redeye Jailbreak Widebody in May of 2022 from a dealer here in Alberta Canada, and after a year of waiting with $5000 down, my order was cancelled by the manufacturer for some unexplained reason. I was getting it at MSRP. Now I have to try find one at a dealers lot for $40,000 over MSRP and it’s only a Challenger Hellcat Redeye Widebody without being a Jailbreak. I guess you have to be famous to get the car you want nowadays.

In 1978 I bought a used 1970 Challenger with a 318😮2 bbl, 904 trans, and 7 1/4 rear end, for $1400. Toyota, Hondas, we're smoking me. So I changed to a mostly stock 340, 727 Transmission, and 8 3/4 with 3.91 rear end. Car weights 3720 lbs. after it was done. It had the mildest purple shaft cam 284°degree..471-.474 cam.😊😊l p l😊

@859foh Bingo.... yes money tossed under a mattress so to speak is dead money and will lose value. Now not all cars are good investments, some you would buy for only personal and emotional reasons, but to a well off car guy they also invest into cars that are less likely to lose value especially under inflation. Same goes as you say with gold jewellery but also things like artwork and yes realestate. Oh yes and invest in good blue chip corporate investments.

Brother, I got a 2021 Scat Pack with the 6 speed transmission. The only car I’d rather have than this is the one you got! That T/A 392 is a beautiful machine. But I still absolutely love my scat pack. Be safe, and enjoy!

Trouble is DODGE STELLANTIS screwed over those of us that were number 1 position at our dodge dealership with large down-payment already taken way ahead of time......then all of a sudden Dodge/Stellantis invited the dealership powerbrokers/ owners to Vegas for the unveiling, then next thing we know they kicked us out from buying our Demon170 at msrp and then asked 200k-250k for car. That really sucks and something should have been done for us! Only certain chosen folks got them at msrp. Sux bigtime after waiting so long with 30% down to hold which they accepted and supposedly guaranteed! NOT! Congrats to those who didn't get burned and got their car though for msrp. Congrats Jay. Add yet another to your collection

I feel you, same here.. I ended up getting so frustrated that I just bought a used 2021 superstock. And got pretty fucked over on that even. Nothing seems to match on it. Even the paint comes up on my Dodge app as a color that only is done for. Jeep, a rare one, but still jeep.. And my 2015 hellcat Will not pass smog. Because I live in California and. I put it on E85, So it's sits Not legally drivable. Even though I put it back to factory 100% before the 8 year. That they state is legal to do. So here I am with giant payments on a car. That who knows the history on and how hard it was used. And one low mileageand Great car, but can't drive.

That being said and I don't mean this against you because I am quite sure you are a good man, the State of California and the government that runs it is a shit hole. You have Gavin Newsome that has and does supporr the Biden administration. Joe Biden made a promise to his supporters that he was going to eliminate fossil fuels and he is sticking to his promise. The director of the EPA is a political appointee, appointed by Biden. Biden stated that elevated EPA standards would be pushed through states that support it, California being the number one state, to aid in the elimination of fossil fuels through elevated emission standards. California goes back to 1976 for vehicle emissions. In LA County, the sheriff's department will write you a citation if they think your exhaust is too loud, even if it is a factory exhaust and is 50 state legal. If I drive my Challenger which is legal under Maryland state law and has passed a Maryland state inspection and I drive into LA, they will write me a citation because they will say my vehicle is illegal under California state inspection. The fact of the matter is, they technically can't cite my vehicle for being illegal since it is legal in the State of Maryland where it is legally inspected. A vehicle that is licensed and registered and inspected in Maryland is legal to drive in all 50 states. But it doesn't matter because LA County Sheriff's Department and LAPD doesn't care about the 50 state law. The ticket isn't valid and it never holds up in court. When taken to the Sheriff's department or taken to an LAPD police precinct and talk to a shift supervisor, they tear it up because they know it isn't legal. I live in a Republican county in Maryland and we don't have any problems like this. I can't understand why anyone would want to live in California and why people keep voting these clowns in office. Elections have their consequences and California is done, it isn't a state worth living in. I hope you can get out of there and go-to a state where you get treated with respect as a tax paying citizen. It's only going to get worse.

He was all over the internet for never buying a Ferrari because of dealership rules and handling out money to the dealers in an envelope and now some of you guys requiring to pay dealership mark-ups, but Leno isn't saying anything about Dodge! I guess Dodge is giving preferential treatment to customers with a celebrity status meanwhile everyone was hating Ferrari for treating each new customer with equal preference.

A lot of people got their Demon 170 for MSRP that arent "special" or a celebrity. I know 2 people personally that got theirs at MSRP and they are by far not your rich person or special celeb. Your dealer is the one to blame for your order, not Dodge. Remember, Dodge put priority on sold orders that where at MSRP or below. Sounds like your dealer is the one who screwed you as they wanted more money.

Had met Jay when he stopped in my mother's home town up in Kewaunee, WI. Both him, Mike Holmgren, & a bunch of bikers riding their hogs through Wisconsin. It was so nice to meet them. I got a picture of Mr. Holmgren & I, but I didn't want to bother Jay other than to shake his hand as he was enjoying one of the towns brats. To this day, I have that photo blown up in poster form in my garage. Such a humble guy.

My concern is that the individuals in government who are pushing electric cars want ice cars gone. Driving them on the weekend to shows or for enjoyment isn’t even a concept the ice haters understand. They might be doing it to “punish” those who do not share their world view. you are spot on; I disagree with Jay that more electrification will lessen pressure on ICE owners. It will increase it as carbon tax/pollution etc etc fees will be added on to fees and taxes already required at registration renewal. The fewer ICE woners there are the less impact politically they will be able to exert.

Dodge SRT did Great job with the Challenger . From 6.1 Srt all the way threw DENMON 170. But at the End of the DAY. I'D still roll with 1970 426 HEMI Car. Even the 440 - Six pac. Out of all Retro Cars. Dodge nailed it the Best.

Challenger Scat Pack Swinger owner here, F8 Green, 5k over MSRP, Luv the car, it's an early weekend sled in Florida, 7am till 10am, till the nuts come out & beach traffic, then back in to the bunker, Leno's a Gr8 guy but his EV views are Hollywood, & all my car buffs aren't with FJB's & other political Chinese stockholders, BS EV train, as Leno mentioned in his speech about getting 5 miles to the gallon sitting in traffic, I would rather that then running the battery down & having no charging stations & on top of that, rolling brown & black outs!!! Love the color and glad to see Jay delivered the first one! I love his attitude about cars and that he loves them all no matter the power source! I take a lot of the same attitude towards EV's he does. I know it will get better with them and that more affordable one's will arrive! The bugs and teething pains with them will be ironed out. Bet in five years you will be able to drive across America with one with far fewer charging times and issues then today.
