M&K His list of 5 is based off old spell counter support, and given how long it could be played for fun during the Zexal and early Arc V era it only lost its use mid to late Arc V era cause it couldn't mill like its Lightsworn counterpart Lyla cause milling became ultra big

One Spell Counter maximum, doesn't accrue counters without outside support, gains a measly 300 ATK from its one counter, and removing its counter is MST without being a Quick Effect. I hate to say it, since I've always kinda liked it, but Breaker the Magical Warrior has been power-creeped into oblivion. Now, it if came to Duel Links... (Decent!) sd sd If it didn't have that stupid hard OPT clause, Breaker the Dark Magical Warrior might see some play as a spicy tech in Pendulum Magician or something. But as it is, the card is kinda bad; 1600 ATK Lv 6, gets 400 for each counter (that it can't gain on its own after its summon)... I think that says enough.

Some Pony I already said it got power crept in the thread, but you're wrong about the effect of to constantly add a counter to it in the same turn - minus citadel. But overall the point was he was talking about the top 5 spell counter cards without new support, and the fact it was so usable to a certain point in Arc V is what I meant before they crept regular monsters, cause I personally managed against DDD and Nekroz for a while before they became turbo with my slow ass spell counters. So no offense but I grade stand alone cards a bit more, the key reason they're not seen much in recent years being the lack of present time abuse possible. Konami's ideal of them being fair being what makes so many of their best cards require turbo builds or absolute stun now.

GamerSastn I was merely stating the reasons that the card had been power crept, and thus the reasons that Drew here didn't list it in his top five. The card might still see some play with the new Spell Counter support, but it's still not as good as the five listed. Also, how was I wrong? I stated that Breaker the Magical Warrior doesn't gain counters without outside support; I don't see a line saying "If X happens: place 1 Spell Counter on this card" in Breaker's effect text outside of its effect upon Normal Summon, so it depends on cards like Spell Power Grasp to be more than one MST. Perhaps you misread "Breaker the Dark Magical Warrior" as "Breaker the Magical Warrior" about the hard OPT clause?

theagiknight23 but the endymion field spell cant be destroyed if it has spell counters 🤷‍♂️ only way to get around it is to use cosmic cyclone. But since this is a handtrap in a sense, you cant know if your opponent has it or not. Youd have to structure your plays differently to get around it.

They're not meant to be a Pendulum archetype. It's just monsters that can be used as spells as well, which I'm surprised we haven't seen before now, as long as we've had pendulums. Ideally, you'll play this deck with a large Spellbook engine, not Pendulum Magicians.

It's a good thing all these pendulum Mythical Beast's pendulum effects require you to not have a card in your other pendulum zone it's almost like they wanted to make the monsters of the archetype not only be able to get spell counters but be used to generate spell counters by using them like they are a normal spell
