The cowl overlaps the fuselage sheeting only about 1” it fastens down to 3/4” aluminium angle that is rivetted to the front of the firewall. The sheeting also attaches to the same aly angle

The bottom cowl goes down pretty much in a straight line for an exhaust tunnel mines about 6” down at the bottom of the firewall
