Too little carbs, and you have no energy or fuel to function properly. You don't get huge spikes from complex carbs. Adding protein will help with feeling full but shouldn't be more than 25 % of meal

Already done the high fibre and low fat diet. Did not work for me. What did work was plenty of grass fed meat and lots of fat like butter and lard. Lots of eggs and full fat yogurt with berries. Fresh fruit and low oxyilate veg. My son lost 4 stone. I lost 3 stone and without hunger.

Very useful interview that touches on many important aspects of the benefits with wfpb food! I've been 90-99% plant-based for 5 years now and watched many interviews. I had to let you know personally I finally found, after years of searching, Japanese and Hawaiian sweet potatoes at a store in my area 😮 and can confirm the Japanese sweet potato is AMAZING! Dr. Barnard is my absolute favorite! I first saw him on The Food Revolution Summit. You’re right that his ability to explain really makes him a shining star in his field. He is also one of the very few doctors who recognize and acknowledge that some people have bad reactions to nightshades and legumes. You’d be amazed how many doctors deny this reality! I am going from vegan to WFPB. My challenge is I can’t eat whole fruit and veggies because I have no teeth, so I do smoothies, hopefully this will help me. In addition to raw fruits and veggies I also add turmeric, cinnamon, ginger and flax seed meal so hopefully these will help. I do a tablespoon each. The liquid I use is 1 1/2 to 2 cups of water instead of plant based milk or juice. I also just bought the kindle version of your power foods book. Thank you for all of your contributions to the WFPB world.

Agreed with the compliments to host and guest here--and the recommended foods are great. I'm concerned, though, with emphasis on boosting metabolism, as research shows that speeding up the metabolism can actually speed up aging. A whole-food, plant-based diet will regulate the metabolism and not boost it inappropriately, so I would prefer that experts not trade on gimmicky pop-med references that sell books. Faster isn't always better and can be harmful--but a WFPB nutrition program is a win!
