Human nature is to try to justify wars. No war is justifiable, not even if diplomacy didnt work. If neither declares war, no wars would happen. Not even Russia or USA can justify any war. Imagine an alien civilization who looks at us terrified knowing that we fight all the time, when the alien civilization lives in harmony

Nothing special. Traveled with a unit once that indeed carry only one mortar. But to get there, not knowing who ome could encounter and how they would react. And encounter did happen. Could have ended right there. All ready to go, but boss said hond it and talked. Saying the others are not there for looking pretty. If need be they can take out a threath and maybe escape. And one never travels with only one car to the middle of nowhere anyways. Not in the dessert, not in the jungle. Funny to you, only because you have not been around and did not understand. Usually such teams send out by themselves are the capable ones, that you do not want to face off with. They can handle themselves.

Round usually fires shortly after it gets dropped in. The two other guys may check bubbles on the deflection & elevation controls, adjust fire as needed and hand over ammo from the nearby boxes. No need for ten dudes, ofc!
@PreparedOverlander
@PreparedOverlander 2 ай бұрын
Nobody needs to fire a mortar after it is dropped in the tube. There is a firing pin at the bottom, when the mortar round slides down the tube it hits the firing pin and goes off. There is usually a 3 man crew: gunner, assistant gunner, and ammo bearer. Sometimes 1 ammo bearer is added to the crew. I exception for the firing of the mortar that I know of. The US 60mm M224 mortar does have a handheld mode that has a trigger on the mortar to allow for aiming and shooting in handheld mode.

That's a lie congo government and its supporters make up to blindfold congolese population and the world.they use Rwanda as a scapegoat and yet it's congo government itself creating rebel groups to kill a population whose land once belonged to Rwanda before colonisers made borders.that land is insanely rich and congo with european and american countries want to exploit it to the fullest at the expense of killing that portion of population who speak kinyarwanda who live on it ,they kill them by calling them Rwandans while they are indeed congolese simply because their land was put onto congo when colonisers made borders.so that population has formed army to defend themselves.the war in congo is rooted into corrupted leaders who work with european and usa countries to destabilise congo so to make it easy for them to steal the minerals,Rwanda can never be able to destabilise congo it's all a lie,congo itself has embraced the genocidaires who committed genocide against Tutsi in Rwanda ,congo has given them weapons and added them to its army and they all are killing the congolese Tutsi.

I am a Rwandan, I used to study with Congolese refugees who speaks kinyarwanda. I mean Kinyarwanda 🇷🇼. They look like us Rwandans but these guys really love their DRC🇨🇩 but the sad side is that DRC thinks that they are Rwandans. This case started in Berlin conferences where our colonisers divided the Kingdom of Rwanda where some who were Rwandans found themselves with their land in DRC due to new borders. Then the story went on... Now there is a serious war in DRC our neighbors. I made some little research about M23 rebels. Guys the citizens of Teritories captured by M23 have peace but the media may not show it to us of course ! May be many of us today when we hear rebels we think people who are terrorists, who leads to insecuty, who are crazy..... Be let me ask you. Fidel Castlo of Cuba 🇨🇺, Che Guavara, Paul Kagame of 🇷🇼 , Capt Thomas Sankara of Brukinafaso were lebels ? The answer is Yes! Brothers of DRC who has power should sit down with this M23 and ask them what they are Fighting for and make some negotiations other wise this fire in DRC may increase. DRC became a failed state where people can be eaten, burnt, stoned, beheaded and this is seen publicly. (You may find those sensitive horrible videos on Twitter) and I saw no one of the killers punished by the DRC government. You may see the hate speeches by DRC leaders influencing Congolese to hate the people they call Rwandans, guyz it have been a mess in DRC.

That is far from the reason they are fighting for. the reason is clearly that USA & NATO are trying to destablize Congo for its minerals since the 60s and cause a genocide in the 90s by killing the former president (Juvénal Habyarimana) in Rwanda, in which would not submit to the west rules. after they managed to control RWANDA, they are now invading Congo. this is a big war and any leader that claim that will declare such must also know that is indirectly declaring war with NATO and USA.

If war breaks out Ugandan soldiers will be in combat. Congo’s mistake was alienating the EAC force because before Rwanda was pretty isolated and now they’ve been taken back into the fold in the EAC. They also alienated Angola and Zimbabwe, we will hear a lot of propaganda from the Congolese but already they’re realizing propaganda doesn’t win wars and when you see videos themselves of them murdering rwandaphones and making brochette of them it turns of your sympathy for them. They’ve made the worst mistake attracting global attention to this while their own forces are committing far worse attrocities than m23

I was one of the guests in the Hotel (real name Hotel des Milles Collines). So I can tell you that 80% of tha movie is pure Hollywood. Also you should have gonne far back in history to understand what led to Rwandan Genocide at first time. I give you a comparhison. Some say Hamas started the war in Gaza while in reality it has been going on for years. (same in Rwanda the brainwash by the western media made people believe that it all begun in 1994). But I cannot say more. If you are interessed I'll be happy to provide more historical material about the conflict in that region in private (one for example is the fact the Kivu region used to belong to Rwanda and the Belgian (the colonizers), using the old "divide to conquer" policy, created the border and that part of the country overnight became Congo Territory hence the fact that most opf the natives in that Region speak "kinyarwanda" (it's the language not the people as you said in the video).

I'm Congolese, thank you for your analysis brother, History Legend is wonderful. I appreciate your work. In Congo we have 450 tribes out of those Rwandan Tutsi. When the war erupted in Rwanda in 1994 after president of Rwanda Habyarimana plane shot down by RPF tutsi rebels which led to the tutsi Genocide of 800k people, The BanyaRwanda fled massively to Congo that time ZAIRE. We hosted them. When Kagame took power ending the Genocide, the FDLR the Hutu regime army also desplaced to the region including the DRC. Today Kagame is finding excuses to cross the border to demilitarize them, to come to defend the speaking Kinyarwanda people from the bullying of the Congolese government which is not even true. Rwanda is benefiting from Congolese resources to grow its economy but it's not alone after being used by the Western Powers in PLUNDERING Congolese resources and taking responsibility of 15 millions Congolese death.This is about The USA and its allies are behind all this supporting Rwanda despite all this atrocities no sanctions from the West. Another reason hiden behind this is that The Balkanization of the DRC in support of the West is included. Today Congolese people are United to fight Rwanda and finish Kagame Regine despite the Western Support to Rwanda. That's why the West will keep losing in Africa. Today Congolese crisis is taking a new shape of the world super powers involved in.

Western companies love the blood cheap resources and corrupt DRC government isnt able to stop any group long term. The logisctics here is also a nightmare on its own, thus a country 8 times smaller is able to project power into its neighbour. DRC has to unite somehow and develop the surrounding regions and build a proper military or the entire country will disentegrate in an even bloodier mess in the following decades.

Clearly, you do your research quite diligently and thoroughly, and I commend you There are several serious gaps/omissions in your analysis, of events, dates and personalities, such as would have given greater cause-effect clarity in your presentation, however not to a fatal degree. I must admit to being quite impressed, bro. Asante.

@@gastonrelanez3724 The buyers of gold are almost always western countries. Fun fact, 75% of the wolrd's international mining companies are registered in Canada. There are several instances where we used local paramilitary groups to allow mining projects, both in latin america and africa. These groups have commited atrocities in the process of removing local indigenous populations or protestors that were getting in the way of such projects. Local governments turned a blind eye in exchange for the promise of jobs and economic growth. When you control such a big portion of the market, you want to be aware of developments, competition, etc. In many areas where artisanal mining is profitable and has been practiced for centuries, our companies would love to receive the green light to own mining rights and start industrializing these places, but when they run into reluctant governments who ask for too big a piece of the cake, we like to use the stick to negotiate rather than give the carrot. I need to read up more on eastern congo, but this sounds like we're saying "fine, keep your ressources, but you'll have to deal with M23. We could stop them, we could bring this issue forward, but you're not profitable enough". en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mining_in_Canada

The other reason why would the us and eu pay more is that they don't have much access to the cheap ressources in drc, which would mainly be towards chinese destination, so it's better to pay an extra with rwanda than get nothing, but saying they would have cheaper ressources with rwanda just shows how low your iq is.

I live in Rwanda, and I am astonished by the detailed analysis of this conflict. However, there is no indication that DRC is preparing to go to war with Rwanda. An all-out war with Rwanda is unlikely. The '' slightest skirmishes'' speech by H.E Tchisekedi was a way to magnetize Congolese voters before the elections. Since that famous speech, FRDC lost more territories to M23 in battles that were far from being simple skirmishes.

You have a point, I think everyone should take news like this with a grain of salt considering the fact that it's an election year. Same thing is happening in the US with it's migrant crisis, it 's always been an issue but exaggerated because its an election year. Like any modern nation with any merit, Congo or Rwanda, won't just enter open warfare just because. Neither government made explicit moves against harming another, no outright aggressions by neither side towards one another. Every allegation so far is heresy by either government that aren't getting along right now, hardly enough to plunge two thriving nations into chaos Nobody is rushing into a total conflict that would end the lives of millions just because they have a hunch that their adversary is doing shady things. I don't mean any disrespect to the DRC or Rwanda, both nations are thriving where other African nations are in relative chaos.

Congo has pissed off enough eastern powers mainly China and a bit the Arabs from revoking mining licenses so they’ve been signing pacts with Rwanda while the DRC turned down Russian help because tshisekedi is an American puppet. All this talk of Rwanda being an American ally in the current day which it was for 30 years is coming from American NGOs and it’s because Kagame and Museveni became too bold for their liking. The Americans support whoever is beneficial to their interests, they supported Mobutu for 30 years then had him overthrown but after Victoria nuland stepped down who was active in trying to spark a war and the balance of power shifting the Congolese are backing down but hardliners might take over and start a war anyway because anti Rwanda sentiment is at an all time high

@@GamesOfficialKZbinit’s more complicated than you think. Rwanda is not exactly innocent but also Rwanda is a small country and can’t allow to have insecurities at home. From 1996 to 1998 Rwanda had to fight those ExFar group that had named themselves “Abacengezi” invaders basically. Kagame talked about it at UN council and they weren’t willing to help him so he decided to chase inside Congo. Those rebels then started killing the Congolese tutsis. They were also armed y Kabila “the father” who chased all Rwandan Tutsis from Congo while he was in power. Unfortunately you don’t speak the “Kinyarwanda” language but you’d find out that most of those territories on the border of Rwanda actually have Rwandan names. They’ve also had. Rwanda lost half of its size that was given to Uganda and Congo during Berlin conference of colonizing Africa. So these issues go way back. You could compare to the Ukrainian killing Russia speaking people, the propaganda of segregation, when every Russian speaking person was prosecuted, murdered or refused services, destroying the language and their culture. Putin couldn’t just sit and watch, so he had to protect his border and save the russian speaking population. It ended up in him annexing Crimea but what choice did he have? It’s a little bit similar. All I can tell you is that Congolese politicians in Kinshasa do not care about eastern congolese in fact they don’t care about any Congolese. I would even argue that Congo has no government. I’m not hating, I’ve lived there, I’ve studied with these guys and I still have very close friends there. It’s one of the most corrupted countries in the world and very rich compared to Ukraine exactly. You create a bunch of oligarchs make them extremely rich, they basically own the country and the government which allows you to exploit the country without any repercussions since there legal system or a department capable of stopping those groups of oligarchs who own everything. That’s Congo, quite similar to Ukraine but with 2.5 millions kilometers squares of the most important natural resources in the world.

You know nothing of the subject. If you did then you would have read books and realised that you have to use spelling and punctuation in order to be taken seriously.

@nbaoldboy8588 Well I was thinking war is expensive, but then I remembered the arms industry makes so much profit and donate to US politicians. What a terrible way to live, like it's a game.

Being from Congo, this really hits me somewhere... Thanks again Alex for being one of the rare independant speaker bringing a necessary spotlight on this voluntarily forgotten conflict by those who make noise in Ukraine or in Gaza. And this is what true journalism is all about! Macron the french president in front of the DRC president and the whole press, refused to condemn Rwanda who has now become the first producer of Coltan in the world, where it has none on its soil. Shows that it is a more complex geopolitical situation than one may think. What's funny is that Rwanda is using the exact same reasons Russia uses for its war. But no sanctions, no one to speak out loud as against Russia. And this clear double standards will cost the west the rest of the prestige and legitimacy it still has and change the face of the world for good.

Don't worry my brother, everything comes to an end. In my view, America is a toothless tiger... Soon or later, Rwanda will find herself in the same predicament. History repeats itself...

Reminds me of the 100 years war were Britain with a population of 3 million bullied France with a population of 16 million and was able to do it due to divisions within France the difference here is the DRC is massive and filled with jungle making it easier for Rwanda.

Small but well trained army will always be better than a big mob . Reminds me how in Twilight of Mughal Empire once mighty Empire was employing nothing but barely trained preasent with spears . First they got thrashed by maratha army which was 1/4 their size than by invading Persian who defeated 5x bigger Mughal army both bcz of tactics and how much poorly trained Mughals were . In just 50 year's they went from ruling 78% of India to becoming a city state . France is lucky thing's could have gone very wrong

@@shivanshna7618 The funny thing is, it's actually the English people who would have been fucked the most, if English kings won the 100 years war. You have to remember that, at that time, the Normand lords ruling over England had most of their personal lands and wealth in today's France (Normandy, northern France, and Guyenne / Aquitaine), they spoke French and many great figures spent more time on the continent than on the isle of England. If the English king / the Normands won what could be actually called an "almost" civil war similar to War of Roses, then the king would have become King of England AND France. England would have stayed a side prize for Normand nobility, and possibly would have either be claimed by a separatist English dynasty in a new civil war (the more likely outcome, no way a kingdom that big would have survived, especially with the cultural differences), or would have been much more Frenchified (France was the cultural lighthouse and already heavily influenced England at that period despite being two distinct kingdoms). It is because the English were losing the war that their kings decided to reinforce their ties to the English Isle by adopting English language in court, putting less resource in their French lands and more in their English ones, etc. It is because the war was so long, lords so divided and reliant on their people to support them, etc. that the very concept of Nation-States was born (in a very primitive shape though). The English people finally had a monarchy which stopped identifying as the conqueror of England. And the French monarchy came out reinforced against feudalism because the war was a result of pure feudalism, so beginning of centralization of power and of the idea that the French territory belongs to French people and not a foreign ruler. If 100 years war had been quickly won by the English king, these things would not have happened. Maybe they would have happened later, but possibly much much later since a quick victory would have legitimized lords autonomy, and dismissed the concept that a Kingdom must be ruled by someone who represents the people living there. French claim that the English king was not the actual heir to French throne was based on an old law ("Salic Law") that many historians doubt was ever actually a thing at the time, and it is likely French supporters used this as an excuse but had ethnic / regional motives. French victory reinforced that concept. English defeat reinforced the fact that they were their own thing and not French.
