I been following Dr. Gundry since 2017. Since then, I have not been sick and I enjoy life more than ever. At my 52 years old I feel better than my 30s and 40s. Great information he provides, and the way he teaches us, is just amazing. It drives me into studying deeper about health. Thanks to Dr. Gundry I learned about the endocrine system, mitochondria, lymphatic system etc. Hope he continues his work. Good Day and Keept the good work.

I love your podcast and have learned so much about food and nutrition. I am following a lectin free diet and practice intermittent fasting. I am also trying to eliminate oxalates or at least decrease them. If people want to know what to eat they should buy your book The Plant Paradox. Also try reading all of your books written after The Plant Paradox. I appreciate all of your clinical knowledge and will continue on your diet plan for the rest of my life. Ignore all the haters and rude people out there-just keep up the good work. FYI I am a healthy 74 yo!

I’ve been a patient of Dr Gundry for over 3 years now. I went to him with Rheumatoid Arthritis. I do carry the autoimmune disease. I have improved so much that my Rheumatologist doesn’t see me anymore and has taken me off the medication. There was only one test at my last visit that showed I still have leaky gut…. Now I haven’t eaten gluten in 3 years. So it baffled me what I was eating. I think I figured it out. I was eating Pickles…. For some reason I thought they were ok. They are high in lectins. Also I was eating those simple mills cookies, they contain coconut sugar which is bad too… I don’t see Dr Gundry till October but rest assured I better not have leaky gut. So to Dr Gundry’s theory lectins do cause leaky gut.

@annburge291 Жыл бұрын
Beans can be soaked for 1 to 2 days changing the water every twelve hours and then pressure cooked to destroy the lectins. Certain fermentation methods, as used in Japan, also breaks down lectins.
@SweetHaley Жыл бұрын
Soak beans properly and then pressure cook. I pressure cook on high for 42 minutes in the instant pot. Canned beans cause us gas every time. Soaked beans pressure cooked at home do not, and most lectins will be gone too. There's a huge difference once you soak and pressure cook. Pressure cooking alone is not good enough, they must be soaked.

Did beans exist during our evolution? If they didnt, then no, its not the beans making people healthy. No creature on this earth will create anything better to eat than what they evolved on. 1. There are still many vegetables left ;-) 2. Its about the science of cooking, a very complicate task and only manageable for smart people. You need to know what to cut away (skins) and how to cook. Pulses must be soaked and allowed to germinate... - Its really worth the labor. 3. It even gets more complicate: You should also avoid Oxalates in vegetables :-)

I understand is difficult to find only good food, but my suggestion is that, try to maintain at least 60-70% of his recommendation, that helped me so far to keep up in good conditions, obviously if you can follow ALL the recommendations the health impact will be enormous. I try to do all his recommendations at least three to six months a year. Another, is to find local providers, that’s important because it is more likely that you will find real organic, huge industries only look for profit, not wellness or health. Another thing that is very important and have make a huge impact in my health, is fasting, but be carful, if you are obese or overweight you have to make it gradually to be able to achive results. Other simple thing is to reduce at minimum sugar intake, and increase in your diet leafy greens. Another tip for example is, peel off and deseed tomatoes and cucumbers. Another tip is to cook beans in pressure cook and, for best results, presoak them at least for 12 hours before cooking and change the water a couple of times to remove lectins. And I think the most important, avoid junk food and artificial beverages (Specially the diet ones), that’s the worst of all. You can start there and is worth the try, theres nothing better than good health. One last comment, to be able to achive result you must do it gradually, it is difficult to change a habit. One very important thing that helped me to change habits is reasoning. When you understant the damage that something makes in your body, it makes you think again before you consume something harmfull. Example, the way I stopped drinking artificial beverages was thinking about the damage it does to my gut boddies. Hope this helps!!!

In the beginning, you could try two meals a day, like a late breakfast and an early dinner, with no snacks. Breakfast could be eggs, vegetables and olive oil. Dinner could be meat, large salad and avocado. The next day you could eat pressure cooked lentils, with vegetables and olive oil for breakfast and for dinner fish, steamed vegetables and a small piece of fruit, the next day you could have a large salad topped with goats cheese, and pecans for breakfast and for dinner a large bowl of bone broth, mushrooms and cooked vegetables.... What you have to realise is that there is no need to eat bread, pasta, cookies, sweets, jams, seed oils (vegetable oils).
