@@youtubeaccount2139 I know that I shouldn't feed the troll, but this is just too annoying. Of course there isn't just Dr. John. New Orleans has an outstanding musical tradition, and especially jazz music just wouldn't have happened without folks like Jelly Roll Morton, and all those Louis Armstrong, Wilbert Kirk, Champion Jack Dupree, Wynton Marsalis and so many others were to follow. And then there were The Meters or the Neville Brothers, influential almost like those pioneers, even though half a century later and in different genres, as well as Allen Toussaint. And Dr. John is a part of that great tradition. And definitely not the least important one. '$uicide Boy$' just happen to be from New Orleans as well, but the kind of music they make has been created elsewhere and has nothing to do with that city.

An important part of the melodic gumbo that is New Orleans' music scene is the magic of Dr. John. The six-time Grammy winner and Rock & Roll Hall of Fame member died (June 6, 2019) of a heart attack at the age of 77. Dr. John, whose real name was Malcolm John Rebennack Jr., was a New Orleans native, and his music was just as vibrant as his hometown. He started out as a songwriter and guitarist in the 1950s before playing with Aretha Franklin and the Rolling Stones. His biggest hit was "Right Place Wrong Time," which was a Top 10 tune in 1973. He won his last Grammy in 2012, for his blues album, "Locked Down."
