Yup Dr K's interviews are just reminders that these people are and have always been humans. We knew this before in our hearts but it was covered up by the veil of the internet which makes people think that these streamers are something else, robots with no feels or such. Allowing them to shit on people as much as they want and only when something happens to them do they realise, shit, this guy was also human and then they stop... Dr K is on point. Shes been doing this for so long and shes been talking herself into this grinding mindset for so long that shes just completly lost. She doesnt even know how else she is supposed to feel. Shes probably making so much money and has so much attention that she thinks that she is doing great when her body and mind are telling her different. But she doesnt accept that and just ignores it and justifies her behaviour through her success. Shes basically scared of proving herself wrong. Theres also no way that just one of these talks is gonna help her. Even another talk wont help her. She has to want it. And the only way thats gonna happen is through a proper therapist. Or she works herself to complete burnout and then she realises it. Either way she has a problem.

I actually mostly agree with you, but I think maybe the reason he does this is because some guests on his streams go from topic to topic, and therefore making a title that describes everything they talked about would be too long. I've felt exactly like she described, but under drastically different circumstances. But the whole thing about taking care of yourself coming at the cost of others and feeling selfish, that's spot on. It's like building your own personal hell, but then feeling selfish if you stop building it, and then feeling like you can't complain because, hey, you built it on your own free will. The scariest part is that so much of a persons identity is transjective not just objective. So you start to identify with the hell you built, and when you take the walls down and take time for yourself, it's like you, as a concept, don't really exist anymore. Walking away from something like that is like literally becoming a different person. There was the you that existed before (ie in this video the smiley, putting on kids parties person), then there's the you during (robotic, overworked), and then the you after has lost so much of the before and during that you have to invent a completely new person, sometimes with a drastically different personality.

Farming upvotes is not exclusively an internet thing. It's a projection of real life into the internet. I'd argue that the whole society in general works like what you're saying about the internet. The only difference is that on the internet, people show both their toxic side and their genuine side in anonymity, based on their immediate state of mind, whereas in real life, everyone is just toxic all the time because they're ashamed of even showing their real side as it's never accepted and everything has to be a competition of who's the coolest person. Everyone's commited to just act cool all the time. In real life, I would never get away with saying that my hobby is either learning new languages or playing chess or playing computer games, because people will call all of these things boring and the conversation ends right there. Yet somehow on the internet, every other person likes these things. I find the internet quite refreshing to be honest. I'd even say internet in itself is a very positive feature.

So I did not know who was Amouranth and never consumed her content, 1 hour before the stream I looked up that she does nsfw content I was like interested on why would Dr. K interview her, since even though I do not have a negative view towards nsfw content and who makes it, I know there is stigma and I was interested in how the people will react. I do understand now why Dr. K doesn't search who are those people he talks to, because it kinda gives you an expectation or an image of them and it ruins the whole process. And people are very judgemental of nsfw content, because it is against their morales. I think that is fine and everyone can say their opinion, but most of the time it feels that people follow the crowd and they do not know why they hate something, they just do it cause others do. Watching this stream she brought up a real problem which is over working and very high expectations, so I don't think she is any different than a workaholic at the office who watches the stream on the mean time, so her opinion shouldn't be devalued because of her career path. It is work too and it requires physical and mental energy as well.

its hard to compare actual work with sitting infront of a computer at home , talking, and sunbathing tho
@yorujin_11214 жыл бұрын
Well coding or doing art is also sitting at pc all day and it still requires mental energy and can exhaust you. People feel the same as she does doing different jobs and I am not the one to gate keep who is allowed to feel a speciffic way or suffer. Is she in a better position than some, absolutely but you don't see what goes behind the scenes and in her mind neither do I.
@jakejason43334 жыл бұрын
@Wildo im sorry you're right. you CAN compare the two. Lets see. Woodworking vs sunbathing. Woodworking requires knowledge, dedicated hard work over several years to become a woodworker and continueing hard work 8-12-16 hours a day. Lets compare this with sunbathing. First you need to be born beautiful, than you need to buy a camera, and create a twitch account. Yeah real f-ing devastating and draining.
@yorujin_11214 жыл бұрын
@@jakejason4333 So streaming requires knowledge of economy and marketing, setting up your programs correctly to work in the stream and entertaining people for multiple hours a day almost every day, then hire a photographer, do photoshoots infront of hot lights and it doesn't take few minutes, sometimes it takes hours. Then you go manage your multiple accounts on social medias to everything be in check. Dont lose relevancy in the internet which is very hard as well. Keeping up the momentum, she said herself not taking a break for few years. And physical work takes a toll on your body, but mental work takes a mental toll on your mind. And even atheltes who train for multiple hours a day say that mental state is the most important thing in competing at highest level. And this channel is all about your mind, mental health, sharing experiences and how may Dr. K help or explain.
@yorujin_11214 жыл бұрын
@stasewich most likely, I don't ignore the fact that it might not be the most demanding work in the world and that she is fortunate enough to be in that position, but as a person who wants to work as an artist. I may not be like most physically active person, but I still need to dedicate time and learn on what to do. And I've seen multiple cases of where people think art is very easy and not demanding. Which is not true especially on the mental side.

Defensive people are really difficult to read or help has even when the open up in an emotinal way they don t assume the negative side of their life journey , at best try to convey a neutral prespetive on the problems and neglect it entirely. Kate it a good example of that as being defensive and run from her emotions gave her an edge in focussing on work and animals , the only 2 things she combines on her ultimate goal , the rescue ranch.
@Aaron.Church.Solomon2 жыл бұрын
Someone needs to introduce Amouranth to Whitney Cummings. The personality development. The challenges of being an attractive woman who’s got bigger goals than just being attractive. The challenges of being a female celebrity The goals of taking care of animals and bringing to life an animal care farm. Like these two women in my head are like a pair of older/younger sisters. Mentor/mentee. Friends, after watching this episode, would be a great thing for Kate.
@mintee86383 жыл бұрын
Be careful not to get too stuck on a goal, as a better goal can be discovered. It can be discovered through a dilemma, then trying to get to the essence of the two conflicting goals, and finding a third option that fulfills the spirit of both goals. That is one benefit of not holding on to a goal too hard but relaxing, that one is more capable of finding a better goal.

I was surprised that Dr. K didn't reach the kind of conclusion that we are used to so I went to check the type content that she creates. I think there has to be direct consequences of generating 'hollow' content for hours on end on your mental health. That would have been much more productive to talk about. It takes a ton of mental fortitude to create content that is different from her inner personality. And once you have sacrificed so much doing something you low-key hate, the fallen cost fallacy sinks in, and the problems go on.

I think she needs to challenge her notion that if she's not streaming 24/7 her "empire" will crumble. I mean she's going for massive quantity over less frequent, but higher quality content. I doubt anyone can possibly be interesting enough to justify being online all the time. I think she might have some OCD along with the ADD. Hope she finds a healthier balance.

23:48 Dr. K. makes a good point. Amouranth mentions that her parents couldn't spend time with her because her parents were too busy with work, and now she is busy with her future goals and neglects herself, repeating her parents' behaviour towards herself. This is probably not the entire story but there might be a link.
@Savagemode097 ай бұрын
No i told this to her sometimes she was reminded of that I seen she does a lot better but she is very stubborn and career driven which is great, but then you forget you're human being and the body needs to rest. I remember asking her is 57 million enough? she said no, I am very greedy person I need more and that is where the ego comes in. I noticed that with her parents not getting along and having her brother smash a bat accidentally to her brain something triggered something else. But we need to remember that the idea came from her husband she would not be here in this day without her husband's lucrative ideas and as much as I seen how ''toxic'' those two can be it worked. I do think it can be too much then she loses her identity and no life just working so much and I do agree with her than in the long run she can retire right now, but her working does benefit. These were my experiences with her when I was in her channel just observing her.

My mental pain didnt have a place in this show because my body took over! That was in 2019 and i had two tough years and i thought that i couldnt have friends and that i m like a slave to drawing but no, that burnout created a balance and im proud of this because i still the same obsessionnal drawer but my body is not against me, i dont have a really healthy life but, when my body tell me to stop drawing and to rest or to get out and have fun, i do it!! I really hope that she takes more care of herself now, she really needs time for herself. Working on lifegoals is one thing - putting yourself in a miserable place while doing so is just wrong. You'll never be able to enjoy what you worked for if you lose yourself in the process. Live for the sake of living sometimes. Enjoy things that make you happy. Don't feel forced to live up to the expectations of others - it's your life after all. So go out there and learn how to smile again and take a deep breather. @fzg590 Жыл бұрын
that's nonsense. If a person has been abused for years it doesn't mean that every choice which is referable to that event has to be canceled in order to make the story true. It's very probable that she was fine with using her image for economic purposes but she didn't want to use it that much on stream, since there's a different website specifically made for that purpose. It's sad to see so many women who are afraid to report and to openly talk about their abusive relationships cause of the fear of not being believed, actually being right
