I worked with dying patients. There is definitely something that is there but is then gone. It's like a sense of smell, a feeling, something. It's hard to describe. I had patients who were supposed to live but they had that something missing. Others who were technically supposed to be at deaths door who still had this sort of spark. I could also walk onto a ward and I'd know someone had died without being told. I had many patients who had what I called visitors in the last week of their lives. People or pets who had passed away who came to visit them. People who had done bad things in life often had fear and would ask to speak to a priest etc but no one, not ever had burning feet etc.

@@minihypez2415 Not really. Tempting addicts early in recovery is a terrible idea and terrible for them because they are so early in they haven't developed the tools to "say no" yet. Like an alcoholic. If they're in month 1 of getting clean you don't want to bring them to a bar where everyone's doing shots. MAYBE after a year of proven sobriety and the ability to say no, but even then you go into a barber shop enough and you'll get a haircut. I'm recovering from opioids so that's why I say that. When I first get clean (multiple times, I've relapsed) I have to stay away from EVERYONE, EVERY PLACE, AND EVERYTHING that could cause me to use. So I no longer go hang out with my dope dealer, or friends using. Because if I put opioids in front of me after only a week or a month of sobriety? The odds of using are super high. So I'm gonna disagree with this as a type of "proof" that they are getting better, because tempting an addict when they're in the earliest stages of changing their life is cruel and usually results in relapse (be it food, drugs, alcohol, having a woman crush your balls with high heels, etc.).

He was admitted to the hospital shortly after his 50th birthday and never came out. He was apparently diagnosed with pancreatic cancer but nobody told me so I didn't know how serious it was. I remember being annoyed that this was happening again. It was the first month of school and I was stressed because I didn't have time to do everything and also spend hours in the hospital after school. The edema in his stomach was so swollen he looked pregnant and it freaked me out when they inserted needles to drain the liquid. The last time I visited him he was just groaning in pain or sleeping, and I felt so awkward and scared being there so I stopped going. He was only in the hospital for 2 weeks and I wish they'd told me that it was cancer because I wouldn't have stopped visiting him. I drank water to fill my stomach up. I weighed twice a day and if I went up a pound, I wouldn't eat that day. I still looked fat when I looked in the mirror. I went from 115 lbs to 84 lbs on a 4'10 body. I was in a size 10 boys jeans. My next weight goal was 80 lbs. But then my kidneys started to shut down. Recovery was difficult and I still struggle. @kingayy92673 жыл бұрын
It's not "unbelievable" when you realize she's clearly suffering from a addiction to food. In her mind, she WILL get her diet under control...starting tomorrow. Today, she going to "reward" herself with a Big Mac since she made a diet plan. Then, when tomorrow comes, it's something else like "today was stressful. I 'deserve' fast food to call down." And the cycle continues on and on but at no point does she not believe herself when she says things like what you said in your comment. Addiction is insidious and it's hard to beat due to those self-placating (or self-defeating, like when she beats herself up for not losing weight and decides it's pointless to even bother) thought processes.

It's true, *most* people wouldn't feel like eating at that time but that's because they don't use food as a form of stress relief like she does (to put it simply). *It's not about hunger.* It's like a smoker going off for a cigarette immediately after being diagnosed with lung cancer because the nicotine calms them. Same thing.

I had gastric bypass on 10/31/19, but I have had ibs for 15 years , and I had gastroparisis since 2016. It was one of the most painful diseases I’ve ever been thru . The pain that it causes is other worldly and I have a VERY high pain tolerance , I can fall asleep during tattoos in minutes . I would be crying so hard, my bp just in one visit was 215/183, they had to give me fentanyl. My adrenaline was rushing so bad they couldn’t even get an ekg on me at first , so it took a bit . And when they did I had to get several blood draws done over several hours to make sure no damage was done to my heart because of how high my bp was . But usually they’ll give me a few doses of morphine and admit me for several days of observation and fluids . I had a had recovery from my bypass and had a lot of complications through no fault of my own . I was just one of the lucky .5% who had a bunch of issues . I’ve lost 135 lbs in 2 years tho and I still wanna lose 30-40, but I’d be happy to just lose another 15 and be under 200. I was 345 and I’m 215 now .

If it were up to me, above a certain weight a person simply loses their right to medical care. None of this nonsense of repeated doctor visits and wasted resources that could be dedicated to somebody who is not in fact trying to eat themselves to death.

I think if they're going to get government assistance they should be forced into some kind of care center like a nursing home. A lockdown facility. They should be given only 1200 calories a day they should be given recreation and they should be forced to get out of bed or no government benefits. They could be homeless. Whoever heard of giving a cigarette addict or nicotine addict cigarettes every month like they give these people EBT every month. Or how about we just start giving alcoholics a ration of alcohol every month. It's ridiculous and it's a drain on society. There's only so much money and resources to go around and we can't waste them on just a few select people because they're addicted. I'm sorry but even if you're weak you're going to have to suck it up and learn to be strong. It used to be that the week perished that's just the way it was because the Strong survive but now the week are coddled. I'm not talking about people in a wheelchair or who have ALS or Ms or cancer I'm talking about people who are addicts who do this to themselves and who have the cure right in front of them but she's choose not to use it

My grandmother used to tell me belly aches were caused from constipation. I never realized she was right until I was nearly 60 years old and it almost killed me. Once I changed my diet and started using laxatives or prune juice as needed my entire life changed. I truly wish I had listened to her. I heard her words I just never allowed myself to beleive adults.

I do feel sympathy for folks with food addiction. Alcoholics can give up drink, drugs addicts can give up drugs, but nobody can give up food. We all have to eat. Modifying your eating habits is so difficult when you're used to just serving your cravings.

Anytime you have surgery they tell you not to eat the night before. It's so sad that she ate on the way to the hospital knowing they might have to do emergency surgery. That's so dangerous. It breaks my heart to know she passed away. 😢
