Throughout Islamic history, women used to teach in the masjid to groups mixed of men and women. Many of the biggest names of our historic scholars had several female teachers. The concept of women only teaching women is a newly-invented innovation. Aisha, radi Allahu anha, used to ride around on a camel teaching men and women.
