DR Versa Trailer Review

Reviewing the DR Versa Trailer after two seasons of use.

I have this trailer. When installing the tub, you simply connect the winch to the front ring, and lift the front about 1 foot then slide it into position, then lower the front with the winch. The boom extends far enough back for this

@@vermontrockymeadowfarm8164 maybe take a couple of long boards like two by fours and lay them in the bottom of that trailer kinda like skids and then slide the tub in and then just pull em out after that

I changed my winch out, its actually worthless,, bought a remote switch so as I'm walking out to my log the cables releasing,, and your absolutely right about the rust on the side rails,, I repainted mine,, thanks for the video

Fred, turns out you were right on the money. I was using the winch to load some logs this summer, not big ones either and the winch started smelling like burning wires. I had to keep stopping and letting it cool down for fear I would burn it out.

I bought this trailer straight from the manufacturer in china. $830 plus $30 for electric winch. shipping to my door was $1279. Allmost ordered 2 as shipping would only add like $200 to the total. just couldn't afford 2 . love this trailer for my atv

There's so many companies selling these Chinese trailers. I'm surprised DR can't make their own trailer in the US to a similar or better standard and retail it for a similar price.

Looks like a great piece of equipment but what a pain in the rectal extremity to get it assembled. You should have read the disclaimer "Assembly required".

A B7100, a Jeep WJ and a small log trailer, I’m definitely taking notes here. Have you guys towed that combo with the WJ? I put mine on a utility trailer behind the Jeep occasionally. Tows pretty good.

We have towed the log trailer around the property with the WJ, but we have not towed the B with it. I think the B and the flat bed trailer I have would be a little to much for it.

You two aren't exactly the smallest boys in the wood, but that bed installation looks difficult. Like you, I am not sure I would use it extensively, but when you need it, you need it. Bottom line question, is it $3k well spent?

You are right, it is not that easy and really takes two people to remove and install. We used this trailer a lot this summer and it really came in handy, but we also had some trouble with it. So to answer your question was it 3k well spent? I guess it depends on if you will get enough use out of it and what else is available that can do the same job and at what cost. For us, I am still grappling with that question and at this point I am leaning toward its a little over priced.

The boom seems somewhat unnecessary especially since you have a tractor with a loader to lift things.

That is true in some cases, but the tractor is not always available.

@Dustin Lanphear Unfortunately they haven't been run in a few years. The batteries have been removed and are in storage, but they were old batteries when I got them and will most likely need replacing.
