Anything less than the Polo GTI/Mini Cooper S/Octavia VRS and the RC will chew it up and spit it out. Of those cars, the Cooper is the only one still on sale and it costs 15x as much as the RC

M340i can definitely do better. It did a 12.7 second 1/4 run under damp conditions in a carwow video. Under decent conditions, it can achieve the 1/4 mile in 12.3 seconds. Even then, the bike would still win but the race would be a whole lot closer.

I have a Triumph 660 it’s amazing for the price. With a quick shifter linked to the gear change, it’s very quick from 0 to 100 kph

Wow! It's feel nice to know the humble Trident 660cc 80 HP triple cylinder engine was able to smoke the M340i 374HP 6 cylinder turbo engine! Never knew the bottom end grunt of the Trident was this good. I knew Street Triple would easily smoke the BMW but Trident itself does that!

I once raced with Porsche Panamera and defeated it with Continental GT 650. Though Bikes are less powered than these cars they tend to go faster in a drag race because of power to weight distribution

Everybody loves the triump, but the actual scenario is the service network and the service is soo poor by the triumph. I know people who spent 3 mnths on the service center because of lack in spare parts. So it a big 👎🏻 for thr triumph

Drag races are great but a pointless exercise because in a mass market like ours, the major concern is fuel efficiency, reliability and good service network. 0-100kph times for example will give a perspective on how fast a car/bike is but it doesn't help on a day to day basis for a normal driver. Most people drive from point A to point B without any drama in normal speeds in regular traffic conditions. Just to gain viewership, doing such drag race is not helpful especially here in India. True it's fun and exciting but honestly it doesn't help unless the vehicles we are talking about are meant for speed and thrills. The more drag races one watches, the more the viewers expects from other cars too even if they don't know how to drive. And it translates to uglier comments and illogical statements. Doing automotive journalism is important not just to increase viewership but also to educate and be sensible as well. @autocarindia, hope you're listening.

Trying to replicate drag races like carwow, hagerty,... other influencers isn't the right direction for automotive journalism in India. International drag races have sports cars, hyper cars, etc in plenty unlike the Indian market. Most of the high end luxury sports cars are imported to India. I'm not against drag races but somehow the more we highlight these races, people tend to have this perspective across all cars being sold in India. There are many local vloggers doing drag races on local streets and proudly sharing them. People need to be sensible & sensitive as to where drag races work and not all cars or 2wheelers are built for it.

@@SuperRider-RS please read my 2nd comment as well. I've been watching drag races for as long as I can remember. I'm also a fan of Motorsports including F1. I watch many drag races as there are plenty of it on YT. But there are many vloggers who replicate in the streets unsafely and this becomes like a thing to look out for in everything car video you shoot. Yes, I'm very well aware that this is done in a controlled environment. However, every car being sold in India need not be dragged into a drag race. That's my point. I'm not talking only about this video. I'm talking about other drag race videos by Autocar India like XUV700, Fortuner, Kushaq, Ather, Ola, etc... It's not a wrong thing but it's influencing people in the wrong way among the public too. Autocar India has not even given a warning not to replicate these in the streets and these are done by professionals. Also on the other hand, the concept of drag races were used for sports/hyper cars but now we see this being translated to normal mass market cars as well. True that today cars are getting faster but the more we advertise through drag races, what are we communicating? Earlier, 0-100 timings used to be shared in the description which was sufficient enough to understand how strong it performed. It's like calling a Nexon, Magnite, Venue etc. an SUV which it isn't. All these are not meant to be dragged. Now if dragging a BMW or Mustang or an AMG... why would I mind that?!!
