As a Dragapult main, Muscle Scope Charm might be a neat build. You don't need scarf because you already gain a ton of attack speed. Also, the biggest change to Dragapult is actually to Shadow Ball, anything you hit with Shadow Ball takes 30% more damage.

I've been going scope scarf charm, my logic is that with the way attack speed thresholds work you're probably not getting any more speed out of muscle, but with scarf it gives so much when activated that you're just about guaranteed for it to go up some amount. Plus with how much damage you'll be doing per hit with the shadow ball phantom force build muscle's 2% current hp damage probably won't do much. The shadow ball change doesn't actually increase damage dealt, they just buffed the damage of the move in general. Both the main hit and the extra hits when you activate the marks are now about 30% stronger, and the last mark heals for 15% max hp instead of 10%

I don’t use scarf and have success. Muscle band is all he needs because he gets huge atk speed off phantom force. Then you can build into more burst like energy amp+ scope

As a Dragapult main I’m loving this. Mimikyu is a good counter to it though bc Dragapult is extremely frail. Also why do we have to wait until January for its new skin? Give him his villain suit while it’s relevant.

​@@Djhinn I don't think basing it on pick rate is always right. Dragapult's kits are all based on snowballing pretty much. The only thing that would possibly deter people is that it has to evolve, I think it's very solid otherwise. For example, machamp has always been very good, but nobody plays it, I think dragapult is the same.

Charging charm I think works best as a replacement for attack weight on speedsters I think! Center speedsters have always had this problem where they have to stack to be effective at ganks, making early game even harder. It can also replace float stone (though it’s not as effective at making you speedy). I played zoroark with charging charm, and suddenly I was getting some nasty thousand damage autos.

"Easy to handle" ones for ranks would be the eeveelutions since they evolve fast and are not too high tech to learn plus they have one in each role so pick which ever you feel like using. Blastoise is another in the defender role, simple to learn and good in ranks. All Rounders, in my opinion at least, would be either Charizard or Machamp. Supporters would be Eldegoss or Clefable. Attackers would be Gardevoir. Speedsters takes time to get use to at first but eventually I learned using Zoroark. Aside from the Speedster, these pokemon were the ones I used when I first started Unite in ranks and helped me climb up to Masters.

We’ll see how broken it is. Unlike Mewtwo Y, Dragapult doesn’t have free anti-crowd control when it shows up to start shredding you. So it has counter play, which is a good thing. It has to use a full heal if CC is it’s main concern, and that cool down is way higher than PsyStrike. 👍🏼

Yup and Dragapult is basically an assassin. Either he kills you or you kill him, after being exposed without something like eject button or X Speed Dragapult is depressingly easy to catch too. As a former Dragapult enjoyer I know that pain too well. I've been slapped out of D. Dance more than once just by a lucky CC or bumping into someone at the worst possible time. With Dragapult you really have to be mindful of your positioning to be effective, you are not going to 1v5 a team unless you catch them unawares or they are incredibly underleveled compared to you. I've played around with dragpult a few times with the new patch and he feels better but I've been run down by a lot of the faster mon let alone speedsters if I'm not using Phantom Force. And there have been times where I pop out of stealh and start blasting a Mr. Mime would just slam me into a wall and make me regret my life choices in short order.

amp is not really that good on pokemon like dragapult or blaziken, since their unite moves are essentially a 3rd move with way lower cooldowns than a normal unite. amp has a cooldown that is longer than either of those unites, so you don’t proc it every time

Dragapult definitely deserves to be in the meta for once because it was just a forgotten pokemon for so long, so it feels cool that Dragapult could finally be a part of a season. I might even start playing the Phantom Force moveset again as I used to run it when I first got Dragapult. Nah, the buff brings it way closer to the Cinderace and Greninja class than to Mewtwo Y. Mewtwo Y was really tanky for an attacker-- it has the second highest HP out of all attackers behind Sylveon. Dragapult is still so squishy.

Goodra with resonant guard is a beast!! I use rapid fire fire scarf to increase my boosted attacks and focus band for survivability. I’ve been using it with muddy water and power whip and it’s so good when fighting a crowd. I used to use dragon pulse + acid spray for HP recovery but now that I can get that with resonant guard, I have been tanking 1v3 matchups with success. I don’t think other players have been ready for it. It’s especially satisfying to use your unite move and power whip to chase down runners from a group.

Phantom Force, X Speed and Float Stone (the movement speed item) have good synergy. I run that and the two scarfs. I don't think the charge trinket is good because you hit 100 and get one empowered auto Gl finding competent teammates to frontline for you

Just soloed to master with like 70% winrate on mr. Mime. Here's my thoughts: -dragapult is extremely overrated. Yes it can snowball and take over the game. It's an adc, that's what they do. Greninja, cinderace, decidueye, duraludon, they all can. I think these buffs gave dragapult an interesting niche as an ambush adc that does aoe damage, but also has a lot of counterplay. It's got very low mobility and no cc immunity or cc of its own. Reminds me a lot of razor leaf decidueye. Yes it does insane damage and if you can't do anything about it and it can just auto attack throughout the whole fight it becomes unstoppable, but you SHOULD be able to something about it. To be honest I've crushed every single one I met (and there were a lot) so I'd straight up put it in B tier, but I'll be generous and say that if played at high mastery it can be A tier. -mimikyu seems to... Not exist? I don't think I saw a single one in my climb and I'm honestly shocked. The nerfs shouldn't have been enough to kick it out of S tier, I'm just confused. -Inteleon also felt very underpicked. Liquidation is probably still very powerful but it doesn't one ahot things anymore, and the lizard is a squishy boy so you have a chance to oneshot it back, maybe falls down to A tier. -Mew's damage definitely feels nerfed and that's a good thing. I don't know if you can take out of S tier a pokemon with as much versatility and game changing potential at high levels of skill has it has, but it definitely felt more fair to play against. -As an old time cramorant main the spell vamp is very appreciated and that helps you to fall off as hard in the late game. Alright A tier. -As you can probably guess, Imma say the mime buffs are crazy good. I've consistently been the first or second highest damage in the team and the cooldown reduction on confusion really helps getting game changing picks. Back in A+ tier babyyyy. Haven't seen enough of the others to really say. Good luck on the ladder everybody!

I actually agree that it's excellent mobility and very good for kiting and I believe it's the better move, but I haven't seen anyone pick it so I didn't mention it. Phantom force is a sitting duck, I'm sorry. Stealth is powerful, but a good player can catch it despite it, as I have done and seen many times. The attack stacking it gets from ko's is powerful but it's kind of a win-more thing, and win-more things aren't considered to be very good in any game for obvious reasons. Of course it's not the same as decidueye, I never said they are. What they have in common is the huge auto attack damage and the limited mobility, and therefore are powerful but vulnerable. Yes, if the team protects them they can pop off, but that's the case for any ranged attacker. If you can't get onto a Gardevoir and it just gets to psyshock your team from the backline, if a duraludon rains splashing auto damage from behind two tanks, if a gleceon can chain icicle spears from off screen and their team is in between and so on, they are all powerful. But autonomy is important, and needing your team to do a lot for you is a vulnerability. The reason why dragapult wasn't picked for a long time isn't because it lacks damage. Its damage was always great. It wasn't picked because: it's incredibly vulnerable to cc, it's got one of the latest power spikes, it doesn't have a game changing unite move and it lacks autonomy. The damage buffs it got are all very welcome, but they don't change how the pokemon plays at its core. It CAN be great, and I think it might be stronger in coordinated play, but in the world of rank solo queue it's just not very good. Ah yes, I'm spamming mime, the most picked pokemon in the game. Come on bruh. I play lots of pokemon and never have trouble with dragapult. I played it and as I said, it's not unplayable, but it's also far from being a top tier. I think you have a point when you say it plays in a disruptive way, for example I love playing the dragon build with curse bangle for the healing negation, slow, and dragon dance baits, but that's all it is. An ok pokemon that can pop off once in a while, and that might not be enough for something that needs that much experience and team support. Peace man✌️
