Can’t wait for your Alaska trip. Born and raised there in 53, dad was B-26 pilot in North Africa in WWII and moved up to Alaska after the war. Worked in aerospace most of my life (helicopters), built a cabin outside of Talkeetna and can tell you that you will fall in love with Alaska. Love what you do!

Great plane! Had the pleasure of flying in it in 2018 to gain assets to a fire next to Stewart Lake. Got in, beached and cut a helipad. Definitely beats hover exiting into water. We could take so much gear too! The 802 skimmers helped us out that day we caught it at 70 hectares. 🔥

Those planes are so amazing. I was very lucky to spend 4 summers working in northern Canada in every version of beavers , single otter, turbine otter and twin otters. My last trip out in 1982 was upfront with pilot in a beaver ( I think it was Athabasca Airways) and the manufacture plate on the firewall was DHC-001.
